New TVs that can use same mount as my Panasonic TH-42PHD8

Hi. Am a long time original owner of a Panasonic TH-42PHD8 plasma with the TY-FB7HM HDMI input board.

Has worked for 10+ years no issue with a variety of new and old HDMI devices, but after a recent move and wall mount, HDCP has become so flaky it's unusable.

So I need to get a new TV but I do not want to redo the wall mounting.

The style of mount I have is 2 vertical braces screw into the back of the TV, then they 'clip hang' onto a mated wall mount.

Are all new LCDs/OLEDs up to ~50" mount compatible, or are there only certain units that will accept the same vertical braces as my 2005 TH-42PHD8UK ? This is definitely not a VESA style mount-- I'm very familiar with VESA from the desktop computer monitor universe.

Thanks for any guidance.

First off there are no OLED TVs under 55". And i'm not sure if those 55" OLEDs will mate up to a standard wall mount so look into this if you decide to go OLED.

But in the LCD TV world, pretty much any 50" range LCD TV will have suitable mounting points on the back to work with your existing wall mount.

And your existing wall mount should be highly adjustable/re-configurable to match various TV's wall mounting bolt pattern on the backside.

I've used the same articulated wall mount (Peerless PLA50) on many previous TVs (42PZ700U, 46G10, 50GT50, 55ST60 Plasmas, and now Sony 55W800B LCD). All these TVs had mounting holes in different locations but i was always able to adjust the mount to suit the new TV. I did have to make vertical adapter brackets out of DIN Rail to be able to keep my 50GT50 and 55W800B at the right height (their mounting points on these two TVs were much higher and lower respectively than on other TVs) but the other TVs holes were more in the center so they were within range of my wall mount's vertical brackets. I did not want to relocate the mount on the wall.

@RandyWalters that's helpful information, I'm going to keep your DIN rail idea around if the need arises. Thank you. Also to note Widgeneering does not have any Din Mount products at the moment

Gosh I was almost hoping someone in this forum was going to tell me a simple solution to fixing HDCP problems with these old commercial Panasaonic plasma TVs!

That Wedgeneering link was a picture of DIN Rail but the link is outdated. I've replaced it with a newer image.

DIN Rail is available from various sources such as Electrical Wholesale Suppliers (i'm in that industry and i have a dozen 3 ft pieces on my shelf at work).

HDCP problems are almost always originating with the source device. About the only thing you can do with an older display is to make sure it's turned on before turning on your source device. When you turn the device on, it sends a query to the display to see if it's HDCP compliant, but the display needs to be ON so that it can answer back. I randomly have this problem on my current TVs (Sony W800B and Panny GT50).
