Auto res with Firestick 4K????

Wondering if anyone can help, I have a a 768x1024 Panasonic Plasma, I set my resolution on the Firestick to auto because that option will allow the match the frame rate feature to engage. However, the Firestick is auto choosing the 1080P option on a 768x1024 set? Any idea why auto resolution is not picking the 720 option? I know this when I hit INFO on the remote, it says 1080P with the Firestick Res in auto mode, when I manually switch it to 720P the info on the TV will read 720P but I lose the match frame rate feature.

I hope I dont sound like a smartass ;-) The correct "resolution" is 1024 x 768 not the other way around

I have read it very often and from verious testing I would say the claims are true, the HD Ready Panasonic Plasma TVs actually have 1080p picture processing like the Full HD versions..

You can feed them with 1080p, 50hz, 60hz, 24p.. and the tv will downscale it to the HD Ready Panel..

Also with 1080p you will get 24p motion output and smooth 24p cinematic motion..

So you can be happy and feed your Plasma with 1080p and all the frame rate glory.. Your apple device is just doing it right..
