Are they still selling this set at Costco? The last time I was in Costco was 2 months ago and it was selling for under 2k. I don't have a membership and it's about 45 minutes away so it's not that easy to check for me. It's really between this set and the Pioneer 6010 if they ever get it.

From what I understand it's only store stock that is left on the Panny so if you want one don't wait call your local Costco stores now & see if they have any left.

My store in Louisville was all sold out a week after I purchased mine. That was about a month ago.

Good luck!

None of these in the Bay Area - I think I picked up the last several in my area. So far like the set's - good 58 value imo. Hope you are able to find one.

Yeah, not more than 2 weeks after I ordered mine (in May) they disappeared from the website. I don't know if there are any still left in the stores, but if there are...they are probably the last ones in the pipeline.

We ordered ours from Costco.com since we didn't have a truck big enough to get it from the local store to the house, and with free shipping from Costco.com it was much easier (and more cost effective) to have them worry about getting it here. We got it 10 days after we ordered it, and with the convenient handles on the side, moving it to its new perch wasn't hard at all.

LOVE this plasma. No problems with it whatsoever. No buzzing, no picture problems, no image retention, no problems at all. Just pure, glorious 58" Hi Def goodness. And an incredible value for the price.

I still need to some tweaking of the picture and color settings since our HD cable channels look warm whereas our SD cable channels look cool...so I may add one of those video calibration DVDs to my Netflix queue.

Wanted to do a checkup on this set. I remember reading online about a month ago that someone said they had these left at a Costco. Is this still a good deal at $1999 for 2 year old tech?

We've had ours for 4 months. Easily one of the best purchases we've made in the past year.

Everything quoted above was stated back in June and still holds true (although I admittedly haven't done any price checking to see if the price for other superb quality 58-60" TVs has dropped).

Right now you also might want to look around for a good deal on the discontinued 58" PZ700 because I've seen it for around $2,200 - $2,300 & for ony a few hundred dollars more I'd rather have a 1080p model especially on a 58" screen & Who knows maybe Costco will be blowing out the 58" PZ700 in the future? But if you can find the 720p 58" maybe you should grab it because you can always return it in 90 days for the 58" PZ700 if Costco gets them in.

3 Months + or - and I have 4 of these sets.... 2 of them have had the most use while the other 2 are in guest suites that get very little use (prob less than 1 hour on each of these). The ones that I use daily are GREAT. I'm still running them at the default picture settings but plan to calibrate them before the holiday's. I picked up some if not the last units Costco had in my area - since then I have not seen any. I was surprised that my local costco's did not have anything larger than 51-2 for months after the panny... A few weeks ago they put up a 58 (not sure brand) in the 4K range.

I've had this TV for awhile but I just picked up a Bluray player. It's the Sony BDP-S550 and apparently it supports x.v Color and Deep Color technology. The problem is that I can't seem to find any documentation on the TH-58PE75U's support of those technologies. The only thing I could find was an ebay add, saying that it does support both x.v and Deep Color, but I'm not about to trust an ebay ad.

Anyone know?

Strangest thing happened tonight. I have a PS3 hooked up to 1080 Pansonic TV, then unhooked it and plugged it into my TH-58PE75U to play Little Big Planet. When the PS3 system menu came on, I hit the Info button on the remote and the TV said that it was in 1080p mode! wtf?

Obviously, LBP is a game that only plays in 720p but the PS3 system menu part was outputting in 1080p and the TH-58PE75U was receiving it in 1080p.

How is this possible?

Rods for base

I realize this is an older TV, however I wanted to know if anyone out there had the rods that are used for the base (TBL2AX00191)?

I misplaced these rods and now need to move this TV from a wall mount to its base.

Please PM me if you have them.

Thanks.
