I have a Samsung 5300FXZA and a Cox Scientific Atlantic 8300HD DVR. Tonight the DVR starting doing something I don't know how to fix and I think it is related to the TV.

Sometimes I set the DVR to play something I have recorded on it and then record that while it is playing to a DVD in a DVD recorder. Sometimes I do this before going to bed or leaving the house - I set the DVD recorder to timed recording, turn off the TV and go to bed or leave the house. Later, the recording has been made perfectly. This was done with an earlier DVR, the SA 8300 SD.

Now I have the SA 8300HD DVR. Tonight, I turned the TV back on and discovered that the recording on the DVR is not playing anymore. I stopped the DVD recorder and did some investigating. No matter what I had the DVR playing, when I turned the TV off and then back on, the DVR had stopped playing, I even turned the TV off with the TV remote instead of the cable box remote. The cable box stayed on - it just stopped playing the recording.I had the DVD machine connected to the TV with both HDMI & component inputs - long story - and I disconnected the HDMI to see if it would help.

I did some searching around and saw one solution was to turn off Anynet, which did not help.

I called Cox, and they said it shouldn't happen. I called Samsung and that said the TV could not communicate with the cable box.

This last week this cable box has been going crazy. I have a tech guy coming in the morning. I am beginning to wonder if the problem is not the cable box but the TV from what I have been able to find on the net.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
