Trans-Europe Express is the sixth studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk, released in 1977.

Musically, the songs on this album differ from the group's earlier Krautrock style with a focus on electronic mechanized rhythms, minimalism, and occasional manipulated vocals. In mid-1976, Kraftwerk met with musicians David Bowie and Iggy Pop prior to recording which influenced song lyrics.

In 2009 Drowned in Sound gave the album a perfect rating of 10 out of 10, stating that "Trans-Europe Express is all at once antique, timeless, retro and contemporary. Its status as modern electronic music's birth certificate is well-earned, but its hallowed reputation should never be allowed to disguise its true value and power as a work of art. Nor should it obscure a longevity that, 32 years on, we might as well start calling by its real name: immortality".

Rolling Stone: This German group's robotic synthesizer grooves influenced electro-disco hitmakers, experimentalists such as Brian Eno and rappers including Afrika Bambaataa, who lifted the title track for "Planet Rock."

VH1 placed Trans-Europe Express at number 56 on their list of "100 Greatest Albums (of Rock & Roll) of All Time".

The album is number 256 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Led Zeppelin is the eponymous debut studio album by English rock band Led Zeppelin, released in 1969.

It initially received poor reviews. In a stinging assessment, Rolling Stone magazine asserted that the band offered "little that its twin, the Jeff Beck Group, didn't say as well or better three months ago." It also called Plant "as foppish as Rod Stewart, but nowhere near so exciting".

In 2004, the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The album is ranked at number 29 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
50th anniversary for this album.

Big Night Music is the fourth full-length Shriekback studio album, released in 1986.

Barry Andrews dominates the writing and performing on the album, with remaining original member Dave Allen fading into the background. Allen would leave the band following this release. Martyn Barker is the drummer.

Barry Andrews was former member of the bands XTC and League of Gentlemen with Robert Fripp. He also collaborated with Brian Eno, Iggy Pop, and David Bowie. Dave Allen was formerly the bass guitarist for Gang of Four. Martyn Barker also worked with Robert Plant, Marianne Faithfull, and Billy Bragg.

AllMusic Review:
Big Night Music continued Shriekback's evolution from fringe weirdoes to unlikely pop stars. It was more accessible than anything they'd done before, and not by accident -- a conscious intent to reach for a wider audience is apparent even in the album's packaging, which pictures the band members on the cover for the first time, includes a long note from Shriekback to their fans, and gives credits for make-up, hair, and denim.

The lush, organic production is a long, long way from the clattering psycho-funk of Tench, and Shriekback's distinctive drum programs have been entirely replaced by Martyn Barker's drums. ("Big Night Music is entirely free of drum machines," say the liner notes. "Shriekback have chosen to make a different kind of music -- one which exalts human frailty and the harmonious mess of nature over the simplistic reductions of our crude computers.") All this makes it tempting to dismiss this album, but that would be a mistake -- taken on its own terms, it's a vastly successful record. Its ten tracks explore a variety of new styles and the results include some of their best songs: "The Shining Path," an evocative moonlight serenade; "The Reptiles and I," with glassine synths echoing over a sinewy rhythm section; and "Sticky Jazz," which is funky in a joyful, floppy way and marks quite a change for the often sinister Shrieks.

Barry Andrews, who handles all lead vocals for the first time, is not a great singer, but he manages; Barker shows impressive rhythmic versatility; and Dave Allen continues to be the band's anchor, providing dependable brilliance on the low end. Big Night Music accomplished everything it set out to do, finding success with both record buyers and critics, but was quickly followed by Allen's departure from the band.
Autographed by Barry Andrews, Dave Allen, and Martyn Barker.

Saw the Dead in LA and Vegas. Would've loved to have seen them in Red Rocks. Would love to see anyone at Red Rocks... been on my bucket list since U2 Blood Red Sky in 1983. My wife and I check the venue schedule every now and then... eventually we'll hop on a plane and go.

Since I Met You Baby is an album by Freddy Fender, released in 1975.

Freddy Fender (born Baldemar Garza Huerta; June 4, 1937 – October 14, 2006) was an American Tejano, country and rock and roll musician. Fender was born in San Benito, Texas, to Margarita Huerta and her Mexican immigrant husband, Serapio Huerta. He made his debut radio performance at age 10 on Harlingen's radio station KGBT. Fender dropped out of high school at age 16 in 1953, and when he turned 17, he enlisted for three years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served time in the brig on several occasions because of his drinking, and he was court martialed and discharged in 1956. According to Fender, he later received a letter from the U.S. Department of the Navy saying that he had been wrongfully discharged dishonorably because of alcoholism, and he was given a general discharge.

His first moderate success was with Spanish-language versions of Elvis Presley's "Don't Be Cruel" (as "No Seas Cruel") and Harry Belafonte's "Jamaica Farewell." He also recorded his own Spanish version of Hank Williams's "Cold Cold Heart" under the title "Tu Frío Corazón."

In 1958 he legally changed his name to Freddy Fender. He took the name Fender from the guitar and amplifier, and Freddy because the alliteration sounded good and would "sell better with Gringos!" In 1959 Fender recorded the blues ballad "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights." The song was a hit, but he was beset by legal troubles in May 1960 after he and a band member were arrested for possession of marijuana in Baton Rouge, serving nearly three years in the Louisiana State Penitentiary. Fender said that the condition for parole was to stay away from places that served alcohol. The third track on this album is "Louisiana Blues".

In 1974 Fender recorded "Before the Next Teardrop Falls." The single became a number-one hit on the Billboard Country and Pop charts. Between 1975 and 1983 Fender charted 21 country hits, including "Since I Met You Baby," "Vaya con Dios," "Livin' It Down," and "The Rains Came." "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" became Fender's second million-selling single.

He underwent a kidney transplant in 2002 with a kidney donated by his daughter and underwent a liver transplant in 2004. He had said in 2004 that he wished to become the first Mexican American inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

He died of lung cancer in 2006, at the age of 69.

Carrie & Lowell is the seventh studio album by American musician Sufjan Stevens, released in 2015.

Unlike Stevens's previous studio album, Carrie & Lowell is sparsely instrumental and marks a return to the performer's indie folk roots. The album was released to high critical acclaim, with many critics calling it Stevens' best. Carrie & Lowell was widely deemed one of the best albums of 2015.

The songs were inspired by the 2012 death of his mother, Carrie, and the family trips they took to Oregon in Stevens' childhood. Stevens' mother, who suffered from depression, schizophrenia, and substance abuse, abandoned him when he was a year old. According to Stevens, recording the album helped him come to terms with her death and provide closure. The album title also references his stepfather, Lowell, who helped co-found Stevens' record company Asthmatic Kitty. Some of the songs were recorded on an iPhone in an Oregon hotel room.

She left when I was 1, so I have no memory of her and my father being married. She just wandered off. She felt that she wasn't equipped to raise us, so she gave us to our father. It wasn't until I was 5 that Carrie married Lowell. He worked in a bookstore in Eugene, Oregon, and we spent three summers out there—that's when we actually saw our mother the most.

But after she and Lowell split up, we didn't have that much contact with Carrie. Sometimes she'd be at our grandparents' house, and we'd see her during the holidays for a few days. There was the occasional letter here and there. She was off the grid for a while, she was homeless sometimes, she lived in assisted housing. There was always speculation too, like, "Where is she? What is she doing?" As a kid, of course, I had to construct some kind of narrative, so I've always had a strange relationship to the mythology of Carrie, because I have such few lived memories of my experience with her. There's such a discrepancy between my time and relationship with her, and my desire to know her and be with her.
