I have one coming late next week so should be able to provide some good feedback on it.

The gear is quite good and I take no issue with it whatsoever, but I can't help but think there could be a notable improvements by placing it differently.

There's usually nothing wrong with inverting a speaker and there's also nothing wrong with inverting it back if it will elevate the acoustic center of the speaker to get it at screen image height and closer to ear level.
Here I've taken the liberty to rearranged your desk [with my primitive Photoshop skills] and elevated the speakers slightly so that:

- the tweeters are closer to ear height and are heard on the same number of degrees off axis to the center.
- the acoustical centers, indicated by the yellow dot on the speakers' faces, bisects the screen image so the sound image center will more easily perceptually fuse with the visual image center.
- both speakers have an equal and unobstructed spray into the room [the right one looked too "tucked away" with its tweeter blocked]
- from the seated chair position the two speakers are at the most commonly recommended separation: a maximum of 30 degrees off the center viewing axis to the L and to the R [THX, Dolby, etc. say 22 degrees is the minimum]

Just an idea. Obviously do what's right for you.

Is this of benefit if I’m not actually watching anything on screen as I only listen/make music in the office?
Your suggestion would work if as in your scenario it wasn’t necessary for the various hard drives to take up desk space.

I’m going to run with the suggestion and see what I can work out.

It’s not my main listening space but 8 do use it to listen to music while working or when I have the urge to mess with the software synths in Logic Pro and Reason

These changes would both improve the sound stage presentation of all music/movies/videos when facing the speakers, seated at the desk, as well as improve the perceptual "gelling" of what you see on screen to what you hear with your ears when there is visual content to your music. If you spin your chair to face your musical keyboard to your right, however, these changes won't matter, at least as much. Also keep in mind my suggestions assume the chair I see in your picture is where you sit to listen.

More general guidelines/details here.

P.S. The Chesky test can help to see if sound stage images are perceptually localized to the position where they should be:
[The video should be viewed in full screen mode.]

Generally the speakers should be equidistant to the listener and if the center image leans towards one side or the other the audio system's balance control (or speaker trim level control on AVRs) can be used to raise or lower the volume of one side to move the center image to where it should be.

Thanks tried but space is at a premium. Must admit most of the time I’m using Sennheisers in there as it’s close to others in the house and 8 like to crank it, plus the Sennheisers often sound better than the cheap Polks

Good eye! My security blanket...I remember lying on a bed and playing with toy cars on the loops when a tad some sixty years ago....as by the pic, many hours were put in on this one. One of a few collected 'membrances of my blessed granny with warm feelings that come awash on occasion when I look upon it.

The iFi Pro iDSD DAC has been a huge upgrade for the desktop. Tubes took a couple hundred hours to fully break in. Happy with the way this turned out with the little Focal monitors.

Nice clean look. I’d be going through a lot of Windex keeping that setup clean with my marginal OCD.

I'm fairly sure I remember seeing an explanation on how to add a picture from my drive (not a URL) to the post itself rather than as an attachment. Would someone mind pointing me to the post (or just telling me) since I can't seem to find it or figure out how on my own?

Thanks for the vote, a little greenery can definitely enhance the view. The sun only streams through that window at certain times of the year.
On a side note, the speakers are now another foot from the wall than shown, making the front of the cabinet, about 3 feet from the front wall.
