A very budget system and one of three I actively listen to. I enjoy it when I do put some tunes on in that part of the house.

One day I'll get around to photographing my two other systems that I really spend time with.

My new simplified desktop setup, loving it. Prior to this I had an Audioengine D1 DAC outputting into a Fiio A1 amplifier, connected to pair of Monitor Audio Radius90 mini-monitors. I wanted a relatively compact, one-box solution for amplification and DAC purposes. The Sony UDA1 fits the bill perfectly, sounds great, is gorgeous to boot. I have it connected to a pair of Sonus faber Toys that I had previously used in my 2-channel setup. They are a lot larger than the Monitors they replaced but sound a lot better (and sound much better in nearfield than they did on stands in my 2ch setup!).

I have yet to try my HD598s in the Sony's headphone out but will get around to soon.

I made this room as a HT in July '05. The wife and I pulled all the wires and cable for a five channel system with three subs and also put four speakers outside this room on the covered patio. Hurrican Rita came a few weeks after completion and sorta rearranged the room as it had damage. While we still play an occasional movie on the pj, I mostly listen to two channel here (especially when wifey isn't home). I first replaced the Paradigms used for the L/R with Magnepan MMGs then dug out my bought-new-in-'78-by-me Norman Laboratories Model 10 speakers that had been idling in a closet for all those years. Audio nirvana! When listening to music I run the pre amp in 'Pure Direct' and bypass the two pictured Emotiva 12" sealed subs and the SVS sub in the rear.

The room is 16'x20' and can be closed off. The speakers are along the long side of the wall with the seating 1/3 from the rear wall. Bass traps in corners and broadband absorbers along the points of first reflection help tame the room. The rest of the gear for 2 channel playback is a Yamaha RX V650 used for the pre amp functions and McIntosh MC 2205 power amp. The Audiosource amps seen drive the patio speakers.

I posted the budget 2 channel system that I also sometimes listen to and use with the 42" plasma a few weeks ago. I'll get around to posting the system in the 'office' one day.

Edit: subs as plant stands? When isolated, why the [email protected] not?!?

My new L/R speakers arrived horribly damaged, so I took the one unit that was in decent shape and set it up as a center just to hear it play in 5.1...

Does anyone have any actual pics of DEDICATED, MUSIC-ONLY two-channel setups they can share rather than those that use the multipurpose rooms for both 5.1 and stereo? Those systems look and seem great, but I'd love to see some more pics that depict setups driving just two speakers with basic stereo-esque electronics (i.e. stereo receiver/integrated amp, CD player/changer, turntable) without the TVs or projection screens in there...

Thanks in advance!

Not trying to be contrary and understanding the intent of your post - just showing that when I set up this media room two channel was as much on my mind as surround. I wouldn't have done it any differently; pre amp, two channel amp, acoustic treatment, seating position are all optimized for stereo as well. 'Pure direct' is used on the pre amp when playing back in stereo, so the three subs become plant stands at that point - I love the sound of these vintage sealed box speakers - lots of punch. I use my laptop and usb dac for stereo playback mostly as RB as well as hi def sources, it's so much more convinient than the dvd/cd player. The tt is in the office with another two channel system that has a monitor in it, so it may not be dedicated. Without going back through previous posts I've noticed others that are similar.

Oh, I wasn't singling you out in particular, arcane, or anyone else for that matter....was just curious if anyone had any separate, audio-only setups without screens in them, that's all.

Yeah, thanks for the link; I've looked through Audiogon's myriad of galleries, quite exhaustively...

I was wondering if anyone on here, in this thread (being that it's titled "Let's See Pics of Your Stereo Setup!"), had pics of dedicated systems (sans home theater displays and gear) to share.

A 2 channel system like the one above, does have quite a different look to one with A/V gear also. Note also, how it all revolves around a single chair. Love it.

That's what I'm talking about, shiv -- I had a system layout kind of like this in a previous home where one seat was the center of a stereo setup...cool indeed.

I spent some time arranging the components, adding acoustic treatment and choosing the seating for my multi purpose room.

The mains are placed on the Cardas Golden Rectangle rule and while not evident from the pics my primary seat is just left of center for aesthetic purposes and is moved a few inches over and back - meeting the 38% rule for seating - when listening in two channel with excellent imaging. While not having run REW I try my best from basic guidelines to have a good listening experience. Not to be obstinate, just reinforcing that we all do what we will with our gear - there are some exceptions to perceived conceptions of what falls into a particular category.

Some may see the den as a media room with a pj and others may think this is a nice stereo room with a screen

Edit: I know the discussion of media set ups as two channel rooms isn't aimed just at me - just justifying my position.

Here is an interesting room set-up. Depending on where you sit, it is either a 2 channel system or tv set-up. he also has nice gear.
