Cool Jazz ♫ Music You Are Listening To In The Now - Strictly Confidential

My music listening preference is Classical and Jazz and Blues and World.
Right now I am listening to this ECM Jazz selection (CD); very very smooth and excellently recorded:

♥ Highly recommended for Jazz lovers with a penchant for audiophile music recording quality and of exquisite beauty. ...Two-channel stereo.

ECM practically invented the Chamber Jazz genre.

This was one of the first, and still one of the best.

Another classic Chamber Jazz issue. Notable as Pat Metheny's first recording. His soloing on B&G Midwestern Dream immediately stamped his identity as a player.

One of the most memorable concerts I ever attended was ... well, more years ago than I want to admit. UCLA's Schoenberg Hall, which was an 800-seat recital hall. It was billed as ECM night. Oregon, with Ralph Towner, played the first half, and Eberhard Weber's group Colours played the second half, with Towner and Oregon sitting in at the end which made it practically the same as the Solstice recording session. Colours was Eberhard Weber, Charlie Mariano, Rainier Bruninghaus.

Probably right up there with the best handful of concerts I've experienced in a broad-ranging concertgoing lifetime, both as technician and spectator.

This classic album is important for any students of the bass instrument as a compositional centerpiece.

Yes, of course.

I think it's great to have a dedicated Jazz music thread; don't you also think so?
I also intend to start a new one about strictly Classical music. ...Then Blues, then World/International, then New Age...

Music is one of my life's deepest passion (cinema too), and to have dedicated threads on the genre of music we love is a great way to share and learn more on specific genres. ...It helps expand our horizons, and it is also nice to comment on the music quality recording itself; be it from CDs, Hybrid SACDs, DVD -Audio, Blu-ray Audio, Blu-ray music concert videos, albums (LPs), open-reel-tapes (R-2-R), cassette tapes, 78's, 45's, 33 1/3 vinyls, 15ips, 30ips tapes, ...

I started this thread right here only for Jazz music. ...Any kind of Jazz, ...John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Patricia Barber, Miles Davis, Holly Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Cassandra Wilson, Sonny Rollins, Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Ornette Coleman, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Charlie Haden, Jaco Pastorius, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker bird, ...all jazz ♫ musicians and singers. ...Strictly Jazz music.

♪ It's from an old CD, with 20-bit K2 Super Coding, on the Jazzland music record label.
It's ok, but nothing approaching the ECM studio music quality recordings.
It's about music Jazz though, with Monk and Coltrane. ...Two big Jazz giants.

Just a reminder: This thread is also about any Jazz music selection (Jazz recordings from any source @ all ... LPs, R-2-R Tapes, CDs, SACDs, Hi-Res Music Downloads, Blu-ray Audio/Video Music concerts, DVD Audio/Video Music concerts, ...) that you are listening to, in the now. ...Plus of course everything else Jazz related; suggestions on the latest and greatest and newest Jazz music recordings from all over the world, including Kathmandu and Marrakech.

Carry on.

* No music right now @ this moment for me; I am listening to the wind and the birds and the loons from across the lake while sitting outside on my veranda.
That wind is from my backyard, the Pacific Ocean.

One of the latest Jazz albums i bought was after becoming familiar with Lenny Breau's marvelous guitarenspiel. I particular liked him doing ''Vision'' so i bought the McCoy Tyner CD Expansions.

I actually have this in DVD quality
