What song do you use to show off your system?

Just curious what song(s) others use to show off their systems. I have not heard anything better than Night Fire Dance from the album Down to the Moon by Andreas Vollenweider. Crank it up, close your eyes, and let the sound envelope you. An absolute sonic marvel.

2nd place would be Third Wind, from the album Still Life (Talking), by the Pat Metheny Group.

No Time for Caution--Hans Zimmer and Disc Wars by Daft Punk

Most people have not heard pipe organs then throw in a few subwoofers to give the SPL required to keep up with reference levels and they wake up quickly. My 2.2 music system is in the garage with the HT in the house--my wife is not a big fan of cranking it in the house so mancave chaos stays in the garage.

Rather tough to pick out specific tunes, most people will patch in on their phones if they really want to evaluate the sound system.

CONTEMPORARY - Adele. set fire to the rain/ Leona Lewis. bleeding love

CLASSICAL - 1812 overture. Erich Kunzel Cincinnati pops/ Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. peter hurford

BLUES- Papa was a rolling stone. marcus miller/ House of the rising sun. the animals

ROCK - Eagles Hotel california live/CCR down on the corner

The bass on that track is way over the top and not in a good way. If the bass line on that songs sounds good, the system lacks bass IMHO.

Come Together, Beatles, that bass after the first opening verse

Route 66, Manhattan Transfer, acoustic bass opening, then it just gets better
Hotel Californina Live, Kick drum opening, hooouuuge
Marble Halls, Enya, for spaciousness, reverb , clarity
On Green Dolphin Street, Too Tall Gang, Milt Jackson on Vibes, best in stereo actually
I, Robot, remastered, either stereo, DSU and maybe even better in DTX (iirc)
Flight of the Cosmic Hippo, Bella Fleck, just crank it
almost anything by Pink Floyd
and DSOTM, stereo is clearest, with my subs
Roger Waters, The "ATMOS" Wall ( very foggy as to how I ended up with 2 copies)
"The End" Doors, as enhanced during the opening "Ghost Chopper" scene, Apocalypse Now Redux
Canadian Brass, almost anything, clear beyond my pay grade
Paul Simon, well noted for his OCD mastering on just about everything, Graceland a marvelous tune
Alpha Centauri, Tangerine Dream, DSU,

Celestial Soda Pop, Ray Lynch, , noticeably immersive in DSU, but better effect/ placement / separation, depth in stereo, just keep the MV the same . (-10)

Car Stereo Competition CD from 1988

It's going back a while, but I still have my Alpine Car Stereo Competition CD from 1988, produced in DDD.

It has 17 tracks of music, plus a 90 second-long sine sweep that goes through all frequencies so you can locate rattles, a 1kHz reference tone, and a 90 second track of no audio at all, to see how truly silent your system is.

My favorite tracks are the 20th Century Fox Fanfare (the track you hear at the beginning of every 20th Century Fox movie), and "The Planet Krypton" from "Superman: The Movie" (1978). The latter starts quietly, so you might be tempted to crank it up, but watch out - it continues to build to a huge crescendo that'll damage your stereo and/or your hearing if you are not careful!

As mentioned previously, I also agree that Dire Straits (Brothers in Arms for example) and Steely Dan (Aja especially) sound great, and I'd add to that list the first Cars album and Bruce Hornsby and the Range ("The Valley Road" especially).

I don't know who to credit (The producer? The sound engineer? The mixer?) or what they specifically do to make those recordings so "clear" (for lack of a better word), but every thing sure comes together perfectly.
