Record & Stylus Cleaning

How often are you cleaning your records & stylus?

Since I purchased the Onzow ZeroDust I clean my stylus every album side. I use a carbon fiber brush before I start each album side. My entire collection has recently been washed with a Big Fudge Record Friend. Is this too anal? Either way my vinyl sounds terrific!

Spoiler!

Thumbs up

For my cart I use the DS Audio ST-50 Stylus Cleaner. I have a VPI 16.5 RCM and always clean new and used records that I purchase. For some deep cleaning I use the Record Genie a local service that deep cleans my LP's for around $2 each. He uses the expensive $5000 machines. A good clean collection will make your music sound better and lengthen the life of you cart.

If your LPs are clean it is not necessary to clean the stylus that often. Typically I clean the stylus only at the beginning of a listening session, even if that session includes both sides of about three records.
