Thanks for the clarification. I get the change from the bulky rear projector to the flat panel on the wall. I mistakenly thought you implied another change from electronics on the floor to the new entertainment center.

Speaker placement and the room really have a big effect on the sound. I always know that has an effect, BUT I never in my dreams expect such a huge effect until lately when I start doing experiment. I really have to move the speaker an inch at a time, turning it a few degrees at a time to test. I am still surprised that the tv stand is so low and against the wall away from the speakers, how can that affect the bass so much? Until this, I had to stuff the bass port to reduce the booming sound. I even ordered some black towels to do that, now I have no use for the towels......It's black!!!! and I had to order 12 of them!!!

You’re adding another hard surface to a room that already has a lot of hard surfaces and have sound waves bouncing all over the place. Add some pillows, rugs, etc. to absorb the sound waves and I bet your sound improves.

So is that "yes. It came fully assembled"? And damaged in shipping.

Yeh, this is a hard case, I am sure an area rug would help, but the problem is I do my kick boxing in the living room, that's going to trip me. We both hate carpet, it's hard to keep it clean forever, dust traps in carpet, I love the fake wood floor. Big boss chose leather sofa and chair, that doesn't help either.

Yes, (comma)

and
Yes. (period)

I read the 1st word. Punctuation will make a difference when reading.

That's why I had technical writers wrote the paper for me, I just gave them the rough draft and they clean them up before submitting them.

Believe me, in silicon valley, my English is not that bad. I had a boss, he's white, he's a PhD, we sat together one time and wrote evaluation for all the engineers and techs, there was NOT one word I didn't know how to spell that he could help me!!! We were just sitting there laughing. What's his excuse?!!!

I think we picked up on that deficiency.

There goes to show people can be very bright and really bad in English. He's one of the brightest, his PhD degree is Chemistry like me, he's not even work as an EE, believe me, he can design electronics better than most EE. It's a new world, in high tech, English is not even that important. You should see a typical high tech company, Chinese take up most of the hardware engineering and Indians(from India) take up most of the software engineering. we communicate in schematics and programming language. That's universal.

Schematics may be easier without words than programming languages. Alas, when programming we have these nasty things like variables, functions, and classes. All of which receive names which tend to be a point of contention in language. Let us not forget the comments and documentation.

You may not find language important, but you'd be very wrong, IMO.

But, hey, I'm just a lowly software engineer who can't understand math .

Many "white people" all over the world don't speak English with or without a PhD.
I think you missed the point.

Yeh, that remind me to take out the acoustic panel I used to use. Before, it made a difference on the bass, but then I started adjusting the speaker position, the panel lost the effect and I put it away. But one never know, I change everything from the old setup. It's time to take it out and experiment again.

thanks

thanks

You reposition the speaker, you have to reposition the acoustic panel because the reflection point and wave nulls changed. You may need more than 1 panel.

Let me play with one panel, if that helps, then I'll think of a second. Last time when I optimized the speaker position, the panel totally lost it's effect not matter where I put it. I am cheap, I got one already, doesn't cost me anything to try one first.

Right now, after I adjust the speakers, it sounds pretty good.
