For this kind of money, I would buy separate. The streaming and all are like fashion, next year, something new comes out and your amp will be obsoleted. Then you have to spend a boat load of money buying another one. You wasted the power amp section that does not change and would be good for decades to come.

Power amp is the most expensive part of these amps, as an amp designer, I can tell you high end amps have NOT change since the 80s when the newer and faster power transistors first available, amps that are high end in the late 80s is just as high end today. Take my words on this.

Get a nice power amp, then buy the front end like fashion. You save a lot of money in the long run.

Own designed power amp, own designed preamp, JM LAB Focal Alto Utopia and Spectral 913.1 speakers, Rythmik F12SE sub.
Not hooked up: Nakamichi Stasis PA-7 power amp, Velodyne VA1210 sub, Kef Reference Series center, Kef Bookshelf speaker, Monitor Audio bookshelf speaker, Infinity rear speakers. Acurus 3X200W amp.

Just me but if I were looking for a SS integrated in this price range I'd look at the Pass INT-60. It may not have all the features of the Mac or the power but the Blades don't need 300 WPC and the Pass runs pure class A until 30W.

Good reviews for both, but +1 on separates. I have been running Parasound Hint integrated till recently for convenience.

Then wanted a McIntosh Preamp embarrassingly based a lot on cool looks. Turns out the C2600 pre was the best thing I ever did for my system. Sound stage is wonderful running with PS Audio M700 monoblocks. Set up is still convenient because power amps weigh less than 20 lbs. each @ 350 watts.

Hegel is fantastic also so a lot depends on if you have always wanted a McIntosh.

Sony ES600VW Projector, 110" motorized screen, Yamaha 2060 AVR, Parasound Halo Hint, KEF LS50s, Focal 926 Arias, PS Audio Power Plant, Velodyne 12" Sub-Woofers (2), PSB In Wall Surrounds (4), Music Hall 7 Turntable, Grado Gold, Apple TV, Sonos (6 Zones), , 55" Samsung Q6F, Klipsch Forte IIIs, 75"Sony 940E , Crown Li1500 power amp...330WPC @ 8 ohms, McIntosh C2600 pre-amp, PS Audio M700 Monoblock Power Amps

I have been very impressed by every Hegel amplifier I have ever heard.

Some McIntosh gear is very good-sounding, while I find some to be only fair and very overpriced.

Thumbs up

I've heard the Luxman 509x w/the Blade II's at my dealers. Excellent match.

Have not listen to them for a long time, but I remember when I was auditioning for power amps, I found it not out standing at all. As for their circuit design, they look different from most of the others, I did not study deep on their design because I was so unimpressed from my experience. Different can be......just different, not better.

Exclamation Did you mean the MA8900?

The 590 runs about $11,000 and a MA8900 (which I own) is $8000. Or, do you actually mean the MA9000? The MA9000 would probably be the closest competitor to the Hegel 590.

I love my McIntosh. But, Pass Labs or Hegel would be next on my list.

I still say, for this kind of money, I go separate so when there are newer streaming or other digital links come on the market in the future, you just have to change the preamp and save the power amp. A lot cheaper in the long run.

The McIntosh has no built-in streaming capability to go obsolete, and the DAC section and inputs in these newer Mc pieces is modular and upgradeable, FWIW.
