Thumbs up Which version do you prefer. The original or the remake?

Lot's of popular songs have had many versions by various artists. Sometimes the newer version sounds completely different. Just for fun name some songs that you may enjoy better than the original. Or maybe the original is just unbeatable. No wrong answer. It would be nice to see a large selection of hits by a variety of singers.

I'll throw one out. Love the original version of "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles. But my favorite version is by Richie Havens off his Alarm Clock Album.

How about both versions being "most excellent"?
"The Sound of Silence" - Simon & Garfunkel, fantastic cover by "Disturbed" (even if you're not into Disturbed's style)

Chris Montez's version of "The More I See You" is prissy.

Nina Simone's is the bomb. Trumpet solo by Jack Sheldon.

I'll give a 1,2,3 here. 3. Stay by Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs. 2. The 4 Seasons. 1. Jackson Browne off the Running On Empty Album.

- "All Along the Watchtower" Jimi's may be the penultimate rephrasing of any rock tune - Dylan the poet, Hendrix the master interpreter.....

Lately I have been listen to this version of "That's all I've got to say" sung by Leighton Meester in the Orville tv series. The song is written by Jimmy Webb in 1982, apparently a few famous singers sung this already. I just like this version, perfectly fit the story in the show. I don't think she's that good a singer, it's just fit the mood of the story.
