Audioholics Slams Synergistic Research as "Low Integrity"

A few weeks back Gene Dellasala of Audioholics was mocked by Ted Denney, founder of Synergistic Research (a company that sells a $10,000 power cord that's been zapped by a Tesla coil, among other "tweaks"). Why? Because Gene was raising money to pay his writers, so his site can continue publishing reviews and news in these tough economic times.

Anyhow, yesterday Gene published an article titled "Synergistic Research High-End Audio with Low Integrity" on Audioholics that outlines the Facebook drama.

"Cables are treated w/a process called Quantum Tunneling. This is a process that changes the way a cable conducts the signal at the sub atomic level Quote from Synergestic Research. Ok that makes sense. I'll be sending 7K for some speaker cable. Also toss in a couple of Orange fuses at $159 ea. He should star in a remake of the movie The Film Flam Man.

The word "shameless" leaps unbidden to the mind when reading any of their sales patter.

Audio is a hobby, and what people choose to buy and sell rarely bothers me.

And yet . . . what reliably makes me sick are $5,000 and $10,000 connecting wires and power cords. This subculture reminds me of millionaires in the Guilded Age lighting cigars with $100 bills, while outside, people are starving.

Money that could help, going nowhere for nothing . . . nothing but stroking the ego and showing off.

Rich does not necessarily equal smart.

I think we all know that quite early on in life.

And rich definitely doesn't equal compassionate or giving.

Or happy for that matter.

Nothing like advertising how rich you are on FB when you sell $10,000 power cords. I hope every person who thinks about buying one sees this.

If he really wants to trailblaze a new path through the murky woods of audiophoolery he needs to team up with Machina Dynamica and get some REAL synergy going!

http://machinadynamica.com/machina31.htm

Just imagine what some brilliant pebbles could do for his magic cables!

Ted Denney is nothing but a big fraud, selling fraudulent products based on peddling lies, not science. People like Ted are the scum of the earth. He's the perfect example of why the audio industry is such a sham.

Holy crap! This pos "Ted" needs to be made famous for his actions. And for anyone in the non-essential retail business to display such hubris in our current situation is breath-takingly stupid.

Good point. It amazes me how the worst people on the planet are wealthy. I guess that's why we are split up as wolves and sheep.

True enough, if people make their money honestly, it's up to them on how they choose to spend it (assuming within the legal realm), and it's not really fair to be critical and pass judgement (though it is quite easy, eh?). It is, however, fair to be critical in how they behave as a result of having the money...just my opinion.

There is zero reason to be critical of a person making the purchase. The rich are free to give their fortunes to their pets, if they so wish. But, you can still be critical of the product they purchase.

I wonder what brand speaker cable millionaire dogs listen to. At least they can hear the difference high resolution audio makes..

The donation is only true if there is no tax evasion involved.

It’s legal to donate up to 50% of your income. It’s avoidance, not evasion. Do you think the charities care to the point where they’d refuse the money?

When you GIVE, you're not supposed to get anything in return other than a thank you and some happy faces. Charities are suspect too. If all these charities are so legit, then there shouldn't be poor hungry people and charity executives making ridiculous salaries.
