I know room correction is often frowned upon by 2 channel music audiophiles, but after playing around and listening to some music this weekend in my theater room, I want to give it a try in with my two channel set up. Unlike my semi dedicated theater room, my 2-channel music set up is a living space first and ideal speaker placement with audio treatments are eschewed in favor of having a happy wife.

Though I don't have a set budget so to speak, as you can see below, my equipment isn't overly pricey and I try to always find that price/sound sweet spot.

It seems like the cheapest option by far would be to grab a Minidsp DDRC-24 as I already have a UMIK-1. That said, if there was something else out there that cost more but would also improve/recplace one of the weaker links in my set up below, I wouldn't be opposed to spending quite a bit more than a DDRC-24.

I'd love to hear your thoughts/suggestions,

My current set up is as follows:

Rega Planar 3 w/ Neo TT-PSU (70% of the time)
HD Audio files over USB (PC) (30% of the time

Emotiva PT-100 (serves as DAC and as Phono Pre-amp)

Adcom GFA - 535

Speaker (rotation):
Emotiva Airmotiv 6's
Classix II's
Helix MT's (ordered)

Here you go.. Paradigm PW Link with Anthem’s Room Correction (ARC)- considered to be almost as good as Dirac. Note I have no experience with the product. I just remembered the review, and being significantly cheaper than the MiniDSP

That's a great first step. Depending on the room and speakers, it may or may not get the OP far enough along to be the last step.
