I just recently built an anamorphic lens, and as far as I know got the prisms aligned properly. However, the pincushion that I am experiencing is only on the bottom of the image, its more or less a straight line on top.

1: Is this because I have the lens shift on my PJ aimed downward? (PJ is almost level with top of screen)

2: Will a curved screen actually fix this or will it introduce barrel on the top of the image?

3: When using an anamorphic lens are you supposed to have the PJ lined up in the dead center of the screen? (obviously its centered horizontally, but is it also supposed to be on the vertical center as well?)

Tilt the lens (down) and the pincushion should even out.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try that out tonight. I installed a arm that prevents the lens from tilting down (the side bolts wern't holding the weight) because I was afraid the prisms might slide out (even though they are squeezed tight and have foam bottom and top). I just worry about things like that, I totally over-engineered the entire project based on "what if" thoughts. I'll adjust the arm to allow more tilt.

EDIT:

Adjusted it, fixed the problem. Leveled out both sides to a point where I wonder if I should even bother going with a curved screen. Thanks for the help Mark!
