Thanks. Hmmm....not exactly the same issue as mine (which seems to be the failed capacitors) but maybe worth e-mailing them again to see if the answer has changed.

I got it back today. Basically a new player they replaced display,power board,disc try, top cover? And another board but I forgot what is was called anyway works just like new and they put in a new box with cloth Oppo bag

It looks like they indeed are making these repairs, thanks for letting us know. My unit would not power up, power button was purple, and the front panel displayed Egyptian characters.
