Have you looked on the Denon site? They have a section for older equipment.

HI ddaWatson,
My name is Bill and I just purchased a mint cond Denon AVR-4806. I currently have a 2800 and was looking to upgrade, but the newer (Thousand) series and the W series are just too much for my pocket, but I was able to locate a Mint Cond 4806. I was thinking of the 'CI' upgrade, but at 5 bills, not an option. BUT, i did read about the Ethernet Firmware upgrade and that would be just perfect and would make the 4806 all that I would need for a long time. I see you may have this, might you be so kind to send to me? Thanks sooooooooooo very much in advance!

4806 Denon Firmware Update

Rob,

I do not have the discs any longer. HOWEVER, I have found the link to allow you to download the update for the 4806 online. You need your serial number.

Have fun:

Cool I would also be greatful for the firmware update to my DVD-3910

Hi,

Could someone also forward me/PM me a copy of the latest firmware update for my 3910? Does anyone know if the unit will lose the ability to play SACD-R after the upgrade?

Thank you in advance.

Firmware - [email protected]
No effect on SACD playback capability. Shouldn't affect SACD-R playback either - the player's willingness to properly read an -R disc will depend upon the authoring and the physical disc itself, regardless of final firmware update.

Hi all,

Does anyone have the firmware update for the 3910? I've been having some issues getting it to recognize discs from other regions regularly. I've done the hack and it is totally hit or miss when it decides to recognize a disc. Hoping the firmware update will help.

Thanks in advance.

Req: Firmware for 3910 US version pls!

I hate to resurrect this old thread, but I'm in need of the latest firmware for my DENON DVD-3910 (US Version). Denon website no longer hosts the update, and I can't find the firmware anywhere on the internet. (Only EU firmware is found)

Thanks in advance

I just upgraded to the Denon AVR-X5200W and my HDMI video on the DVD-3910 has stopped working.
Research for the issue brought me here. Is there any way to still get the ESS-6609-B firmware update?

Thanks!

Hmmmmm .... read the (entire) thread, maybe?
Or if you're really short on time - even just this page?

I love my DVD-3910, it has served me well, but IEEE-1394 and DL3 doesn't do much for the newest components, so...

What's the best bet for an upgrade for a DVD-3910? After 12-or-so-years of great service, upgrades keep obsoleting the audio functions I need if for.
When I had a Pioneer Elite flagship, I got great Multichannel DSD, MLP streamed right into the processor via Firewire / I394. But good luck finding s 4k Proc with that.
When I replaced that with a super high-end flagship, Denon Link III did the same trouble free, all processing in the receiver with great processing and DACs.

Now that I've moved to a 4K/60hz ingest/processing chain, are there any reasonably-priced DVD or Blue-Ray player that successfully output real, non-downsampled DVD-Audio and 2/5-ch SACD DSD to the newest Denons 7200XWA (so, HDMI transport and/or Denon Link 4). I am less concerned with video processing than reliable, digital full Hi-Rez transport from player to Receiver,

I'm open to suggestions, including reasonably-priced both new and used gear, hopefully reasonably-priced, and far less than the 1.5K for the 3910.

I've done a few searches already, and thanks in advance to any help you can provide.

P.S. I have several archived DVD-3910 firmware releases, PM me for any specific requests, Thanks in advanced.

Hello All,

I'm doing a check to see if I have the latest firmware installed on my DVD-3910. Can anyone confirm if I should upgrade if there is? I am see posts with 6609-E. Is that the latest?

This is what I have currently:

ESS 6609-D
MAKE DAT 719D
DRV 030825
SYSTEM 6767-5
DSP 6770
C 20041028

I wonder if you can help. I finally was able to get my DVD 3910 up and running, but only have -A SW. Denon site is not supporting downloads of this DVD player (What is the big deal of leaving FIRMWARE on the site??).

I am having intermittent issues when I play DVD-Audio tracts. When some songs are being played, they that are distorted, skipping pieces of the music or not playing any music at all! Many of the tracts sound great, but almost every disk I burn, there is any issue with songs that are messed up.

Also, it seems that I cannot play any MP3 formats on CD. Is that supposed to work? Maybe I am burning the CD wrong?

I have played these "bad" tracks on my PC DVD player and ALL are recorded with issue.

I was hoping you can help. Maybe it is a Firmware issue? I like to start there before thinking it is the transport or the optics.

Can you upload the 6609-D files you have? I am assuming this firmware is for USA.

I would appreciate that very much! Thanks.
