Truth is, my payment due date is the 28th, so I have planned to cancel my practically since Day One subscription .. I have also pretty much milked it, although I would like to view the next season of "Lost in Space" .. I also enjoyed "The Irishman" .. but there is just not enough compelling content to warrant paying month in and month out these days ..

I do still find pretty good stuff, "In the Shadow of the Moon" was good ..

When I do cancel, it will be like walking away from an Old Friend ..

Not many services, only VUDU calls their high definition 1080p HDX.

I'll be going back an buying a month while I can to catch up on the shows on Netflix I still want to watch. A number of people I know are doing this. I've got so much to watch now it will be hard to find time for that though.

We now enjoy Netflix email begging, begging us to come back. It's free.

Netflix testing discounted price plans for those who subscribe long-term

Quote:
Netflix might still be the king of streaming services, but it's facing increased competition from the likes of Disney+. Could one of the company’s strategies be to introduce a discounted payment plan for those who sign-up long-term? Possibly, as it’s already testing the scheme in India.

Could anyone please check what bitrate "I am mother" is streaming on his device? I'm asking because on PS4 it has 1.6 Mbits (which is garbage PQ), on PC I get 2.6Mbs but I know that there is also 5.8 Mbs encode. How to get that quality?

I'm happy to clock it for you when I get some time .. thing is, I don't know if that has any real meaning since bit rates are going to depend on the ISP, the time of day, etc .. although I do use a PS4 .. which is about the only thing I think we have in common ..

Sound is always ok on my Netflix, but I'm really disappointed at the few titles they have in 4K.

Thanks for the tip. I like loud and exciting spy stories so the presence of Ryan Reynolds and Melanie Laurent along with UHD HDR video and Atmos audio put it in my wheelhouse. Have put it on my watchlist and hope to get to it soon.

I took it in Sunday .. the PQ pops, the SQ is great .. it's non-stop action, leave your Brain at the door .. just a thrill ride, IMO .. NF dropped some coin on this Michael Bay piece ..

If it's using HEVC it will be at a lower bitrate. The 5.8Mbps encode should be Mpeg4. HEVC at a lower bitrate should equal the look of MPEG4 at 5.8. Although I would think it would not be anywhere near 1.9Mbps.

At the few titles? I watch Netflix regularly and most of what I watch is in UHD. They have a large amount of UHD content.
