I like Ed Harris, the film was pretty good, although a good portion is subtitled due to quite a bit of Mexican sections .. Eva Longoria played a much less than glamorous role .. worth a watch ..

Watched the first episode, and will find time for the following 5 episodes once the grandkids head back home. Agree that the acting is top notch, and the take on Israeli- Palastinian relations seems both accurate and timely.

And a very hearty Thank You for this recommendation .. I'm halfway thru and it's a great, great show .. somewhat in the vein of "Homeland" .. Gyllenhaal is just tearing it up and Rea is somehow creepy yet cool at the same time .. the entire cast is top notch and the story just builds and builds ..

somehow i got caught up in a late night binge watching of old James Bond movies - suspect that more than a few have seen "Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007" - a series of interviews with both friends of Ian Fleming & friends / family of Albert Broccoli and Saltzman and how the first James Bond movie almost didn't get made, and how they eventually did - pretty interesting material, i was expecting to switch it off after a few minutes but totally caught & held my attention.

I also enjoyed "Rhymes for Young Ghouls" which is a little off-beat but very well done.

I hate to sound like a broken record (if anyone even knows what that is these days) but finished "The Honorable Woman" last night and I have to say it's one of the best dramas I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy .. it may take a few episodes to set the stage, but if you stick with it, I think many here will find it quite rewarding ..

Brian .. thank you ..

Without question one of the best mini-series I've seen in years.

Just started Peaky Blinders last night and it's already shaping up to be some excellent content as well.

You're welcome. It was critically acclaimed when it was on Sundance a few months back so paid attention when it finally showed on Netflix.

Similarly, the CW series "Jane the Virgin" is getting critic's raves. I suspect it may show on Netflix a month after the season finishes but because I'd heard good things about it decided to watch on Hulu+. Unfortunately they have only the the last 5 episodes though weirdly also episode 3. This show is a hoot if you haven't seen it. Furthermore the director for the pilot and episode 3 was Brad Silberling and old friend of my sister's family. I really liked his "10 Items or Less" movie (the DVD had a "making of" longer than the film).

In the spirit of Maggie Gyllenhaal movies, I watched Frank the other day and found it enjoyable.
It's a quirky little character-driven movie.
I wish there was more of the "music" in the movie, though.

I was reluctant to even start Peaky Blinders .. since content just seems to keep stacking up on me .. but on your recommendation I watched the first 2 episodes and felt like it was some sort of early 1900's "Sons of Anarchy" .. however, I stuck with it and now I've been sucked into the World of the Shelby's .. and Sam Neill does a surprisingly good job .. thumbs up ..

Yes, Sam Neill, Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory, along with many others are all excellent in this series. Tom Hardy is especially good in Series 2. The show is very stylish and I especially love the soundtrack, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tom Waits, etc. great stuff. Really looking forward to Series 3!

I think a deal may get struck to keep the content on NF .. the BBC needs the money .. but, I am trying to get thru any I had an interest in before the expiration date ..

Don’t worry: BBC’s ‘Doctor Who’ isn’t disappearing from Netflix at the end of January

Amen! i was blown away by The Honourable Woman and Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance in it. She was wonderful.

Speaking of wonderful, I am now watching The Fall, starring Gillian Anderson as a hardbitten senior London police official seconded to Belfast, Norther Ireland. She is terrific. Equally terrific, is Jamie Dorman (Fifty Shades of Grey) who plays the beefcake pretty boy serial killer the cops are chasing. He is fascinating, charismatic and creepy at the same time. Highly recommended!

As recommended above , I you want to see Maggie Gyllenhaal in an entirely different kind of role check out "Frank" on Netflix where she plays a synth/theremin player.

Totally agree - my wife & I decided to rewatch the first season - to refresh our memories & establish continuity - well done series with well crafted performances - worth your viewing time.

If you were a fan of "Crossing Lines" with William Fincher that was on NBC back in the summer of 2013, Netflix just added season 2 which didn't play in the US but did in Europe.

Saw several stories that "The Interview" will be available on Netflix January 24. (The only Netflix links right now are for the disc version.)

I'll watch it to see "how bad" it is. The one movie that isn't available for "rent" or on Netflix is the 2013 "The Internship." It has played on HBO and currently on Cinemax. A friend says a lot I've said about Google is in the movie (it was shot there). The disc has long been on sale but as far as I can tell never available for rent. Weird. I'm going to wonder over to Rasputin's and see if they have a used copy.

It's not a bad film .. not great, but not bad .. the HBO series "Silicon Valley", however, is an excellent nerd comedy ..
