Under the Influence

Watched the Keith Richards piece last night: http://www.netflix.com/title/8006679...98&jbp=1&jbr=0
While the dude certainly has staying power and has retained enough brain cells to stay functional (compared to say Ozzy Osborne) I didn't think this was a "must see" piece of film making, although there were some good stories, especially his encounter with Chuck Berry. I rated it 3 stars

As I posted some time ago, Netflix will probability be creating it's own content. Now it seems closer to becoming a reality.
Netflix set to make more shows of its own

I binged through Longmire as well. That would be a horrible cliffhanger end to the series, reminiscent of The Glades.

There is a simularity about the first episode of Black Mirror and recent news about David Cameron. In fact the simularity was even mentioned in at least one of the news stories I read.

Now, what we need is for HBO to release rights to "Utopia" and have Netflix do season 3 and on. And in the original style.

Yes, it's a shame Utopia 'died on the vine', it was quite unique(in both story and style/look), something that TV could certainly use more of.

I had never heard of it. I've only been a Netflix subscriber for a year and have not dug deep into their "vault". I watched the first episode last night, liked it, and will watch the rest before the new episodes are released.

I don't know. I got it through other means and it was terrific.

Not all the black mirror episodes work for me, but the ones that do, work like gang busters. This show is like the outer limits gone to hell. American TV may revel in gore and violence but they don't get truly dark. They only get "dark", if you know what I mean.

Very much agree. However, this seems to be one of those series that ALWAYS ends with a cliffhanger. One of these times, we'll be screwed!

I think it's been rotated out of NF, but "Fear Itself" was not bad ..

The drama "Puncture", stars Chris Evans as a burnt out, but determined lawyer who becomes tangled in a case that seems hopeless.

Sorry if this is old news, but the original, more cringe inducing and less cuddly Office UK is now on Netflix.

I believe he replaces all his blood with new blood. At least, that's what I heard many years ago, I think it was in the 90s when I heard that. But, you know, who knows it's actually true or just an urban legend.

Are you sure the series episode predates the Cameron rumors?

I haven't seen Utopia, but I sure do wish someone would get the rights to keep producing Continuum. It's in the final season, and they've shortened it to just 6 episodes. I admit I haven't watched them yet, so I don't know how they ended the series. (I think it ended earlier this month)

Speaking of Continuum, I saw Rachel Nichols on Chicago Fire in the last couple of episodes. Since I stopped watching Continuum in the second season I hadn't seen the actress for a while so it was one of those "where the hell have I seen her before?" moments. Looking at her credits on IMDb, it looks like she's in one more episode of CF. She's playing a lawyer who's in a management class with one of the male leads and an apparently temporary love interest.

IMDb voters have thought highly of both films.

"Beasts of No Nation" is depressing, no doubt .. however, the Glenn Campbell doc is actually uplifting as you watch Campbell and his family deal with the Alzheimers .. in fact, Campbell himself was, in many ways, inspirational .. highly worth watching, especially since he was a part of the fabric of my own musical history ..
