Watched it. Liked it for what it was. It's missing some genuine heart, though.

Only thing 80s about it (in my book) is it's Die Hard-ish theme.

Not really a find as it's had 4 seasons already, but it looks like there might be more Peaky Blinders beyond the already planned fifth season.

I finished watching all 8 episodes of "The Rain" last night and can highly recommend it. It's starts out as some have pointed out a bit adolescent but develops beyond that. The last three episodes were especially good.

I will also recommend "The Break", a Belgian mystery series which has a lot of twists in it and very well done.

Fauda was developed by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff based on their experiences doing military service in the IDF's Duvdevan Unit. The series premiered on February 15, 2015. It tells the story of Doron, a commander in the Mista'arvim unit, and his team as they try to catch a Hamas arch-terrorist known as "The Panther".
The first season of the series was filmed in Kafr Qasim, during Operation Protective Edge.
Fauda has been praised for its realism, use of Arabic and empathetic portrayal of the Hamas characters.
In June 2016, the show won six Ophir Awards, including Best Drama Series, at the Israeli Academy Awards.[2]
The second series of Fauda became available last Friday(I think). I watched the first episode last night and it was action-packed start to finish.

Not bad until the last few chapters when some of the plot action seems beyond belief.

I just finished this it’s a great story but after this I guess I’ll need to cleanse myself with comedy or sports. There’s are dark world out there.

Just watched a very interesting documentary - Mercury 13. The little known history of the women involved in the Mercury program of the early 60s.

Was added to Netflix in April 2018.

Not a hidden gem, but I was watching Allied on Netflix, which contains a lot of French dialog. The movie, however, has no subtitles available - I'm wondering if this is intentional? Are we supposed to be completely clueless about what's being spoken during the non-English conversations?

I'd like to know if the theatrical/blu-ray presentations were handled in a similar fashion, or did the content provide simply not provide any subtitle information for the Netflix stream?

It may be like The Pianist in which they didn’t subtitle the German soldiers to create the feeling of an occupation.

This was pretty good and it kinda/sorta follows an actual corruption case in Brazil where the dominos are still falling today. To be clear, it's not a documentary though, it's a true fictional drama and I really enjoyed it. It reminded me somewhat of The Wire.

Allied doesn't show up on Netflix search. Is it Amazon or Hulu?

Well, you can add me to the list of folks that helped drive that choice .. I quit rating when they went to the current "system" .. I used to religiously rate .. back in the day, I think they even ran some sort of contest on a rating algorithm that would help suggest material you might like .. or some such

Reviews are not the same thing as ratings...I always check reviews before watching something new...If they get rid of reviews I'll probably be giving Netflix a break for a while as I'm having a hard enough time finding something decent to invest the time in.

Yes, I know the difference between ratings and reviews .. could you direct me, however, to where Netflix has a review area .. ?? In all the years I've subscribed, I don't recall ever seeing it ..

The reviews are under "details" when you click the little down arrow...however after doing a little research on this subject yesterday, apparently out of 19 different NF applications, only the desktop version has reviews available. I've only ever used the pc version as I watch everything through my HTPC. I just assumed everyone had reviews...no wonder they're cancelling due to lack of use, hardly anyone has access to them.

I've found the Netflix reviews to be quite good and fairly accurate, at least to my taste. I tend to watch a lot of foreign and non-mainstream stuff and the reviews are really the only way to know what your getting into, I'm going to miss them bigtime
