If you're a horror fan be sure to check out "The Silence" starring Stanley Tucci and Kiernan Shipka. Great stuff!

Nope, different storyline. "A Quiet Place" isn't a road movie.

It's based on the same premise. If you make a sound 'they' will hear you and then kill you!

It doesn't change the fact that both films have a similar theme.

My mistake. It's hard to keep the 'keep quiet' and 'don't look' genres separate.

Already done. The Happening (2008) is the 'don't breathe' genre.

You mean like zombie movies and TV series.

BTW, I watched the first two episodes of "Black Summer" last night. Episode 2 is quite something.

I don't usually binge a series but last night decided to try the first episode of the Swedish series "Quicksand" and finished around midnight all six episodes. It is that good.

If you're interested in the strange world of Bollywood filmmaking, Netflix has added "Bollywood Calling", a comedy about an American actor who takes a job in Mumbai in a Bollywood film. Stars the late Om Puri. I have it on DVD and it was made if I recall right by an engineer who worked in Silicon Valley and returned to India to make movies without the dancing around trees.

What Happened. Miss Simone? (2015) - Film documents Nina Simone’s Rise as Singer and Activist. Fascinating and depressing at the same time...but required viewing if you are a fan.

"Bitter Daisies" is an excellent Spanish detective series which I finished last night. But it was a hard start for me because for some reason the first episode, though the series is not shot like a soap opera, had flat sound like a soap opera. Perhaps someone sent Netflix a rough pilot cut. Subsequent episodes were okay. There are some twists to this series making it well worth a watch.

Unless you're really into Nick Cage, avoid at all costs "Between Worlds" .. it just plain bad .. and Cage is bloated, over-acting, looks like crap, etc ..

He's willing to do about anything to cash a check, apparently ..
