I have an LG EF9500 OLED and I can't get UHD or HDR to work at all. I made sure I'm selecting the UHD version in the TV app. It doesn't go beyond 1080p no matter how much I wait, nor does it switch to HDR. I have a 50mbps connection, so it's plenty.

I used to stream HDR content just fine a couple of years ago. I've tried to reinstall the app and restart my TV, but nothing works. Has anyone else had this issue.

So its a "new" sort of "based on what you watched" deal. And we need this why? The current UI pretty much does the same thing.

Yeah, I'm not seeing much of value with this program, it seems to just reshuffle titles around that I've already seen.

I'd rather Amazon spent the effort on cleaning up their existing GUI and make it more user-friendly in finding titles and lists.

Hello,

I just now signed-up for Amazon Prime for movies streaming.
I already have the Netflix up-graded account for streaming 4K.

I also have the Roku Ultra for my streaming.
It works perfect on Netflix.
I just watched a 4K Ultra HDR movie yesterday afternoon and it was KILLER for video and Audio.
It had my 4 subwoofers fully engaged !!!

There's a redirect in that link which is probably tripping some types browser security. AVS likes to mess with links.
Opens here in I.E. but not FF 64.

Still can't get it to work with Firefox here. It's Win10, FF64. I tried it's safe mode with no change. Also tried allowing all cookies and disabling tracking protection. No change.

Now this is extra weird. On Edge, it was working. I was NOT logged into Amazon. I logged in, and now I get the Amazon redirect page!! Same with Firefox. I logged out of Amazon, and it worked. Logged back in, 404 error.

If it is beta, maybe it is locked to certain accounts/groups/[number 3 in username]/etc.

Ian,

Your probably right they wouldn't be a very good fit for your HT that's for sure.
Even in my HT which is the bonus room over the 2 1/2 car garage you can feel them in the floor and your body when the real ACTION hits !!!

I plan to replace my two ported Velo 10 inchers with a pair of sealed 12'' SVS subs at some point, but that's a tale for the subwoofer forum.

Gems and Finds

How about posting the names of Prime shows and movies you've found that you really liked?

I'll nominate Goliath, Fleabag, and Catastrophe. These are three excellent but very different shows that don't get much publicity.

Denon x4400h, Samsung LED 1080p TV, B&W 704 mains, two M&K subwoofers, Oppo 103, Roku 2, Darbeevision, etc.
Headphone system: Focal Clear, Sennheiser HD600, AKG K702, Hifiman HE-400i, Marantz HD-DAC1, Denon DVD-3910

There are threads for some of their original series. I haven't found much to get excited about other than Bosch, Patriot and Mozart. I've gotten a lot more mileage out of their HBO catalog, e.g. Sopranos, Deadwood, 6 feet under, Wire, True Blood; some foreign ones e.g. Lewis, Fortitude, Detectorists; and a good selection of scientific documentaries like Fabric of the Cosmos and Mystery of Matter. To be fair, I haven't watched Jack Ryan or Man in the High Castle yet (partly because having read MITHC, I don't see how you could milk more than 2 or 3 hours of TV out of it).

Ian,

I have read several reviews on the SVS subs and they were favorable buddy.

I highly recommend Jack Ryan and The Man in the High Castle. They are both extremely well done, including 4K HDR video and, in the case of Jack Ryan, Atmos audio. I liked Jack Ryan so much, I rewatched Season 1 last week. Like you, I wasn't terribly impressed with Philip K. Dick's literary version of The Man in the High Castle. fortunately, though, the TV show's writers only used the book as a starting point and have been telling a compelling story of their own. In short, don't be put off the TV show by your tepid reaction to the book.

Speaking of shows based on a dystopian future, if you haven't already checked out A Handmaid's Tale on Hulu, do give it a whirl. I've loved every minute of it.

Well I gave JR a shot last night but I think I've seen the same thin plot way too many times before and the characters had no appeal at all for me. It did make me appreciate even more what Killing Eve accomplished with a fraction of JR's budget...
