In another thread, somebody mentioned that the Netflix data may be discs, too, and not just streamed media. Is this true? If so, it may not be worthy of stickiness.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I'll try checking the titles and post back.

Thanks for changing the title. I tried editing the title yesterday and it wouldn't take when saved. Tried several times.

Larry, I don't think that's true. I checked all of the June titles listed by the CNN story through June 15 and they were all available either on Netflix or Amazon Prime streaming - most of the time on both services. If anyone has a title that they think is not available for streaming that is listed for May or June I would be glad to check it out.

Interestingly I found that Netflix has both the regular and unrated version of World War Z while Amazon Prime only has the regular 116 minute version.

Thanks, Mr. G!

I think only mods can change thread titles in VB. Huddler could have been different, I don't recall.

Thanks I will be subscribing to this thread as I been watching Amazon content more recently and there really isn't a good website that lists new prime content.

Mr.G 09-03-2014 12:33 PM

Quite a few good movies and shows added in September. For me the stand-outs this month are:

September 5

All Is Lost (2013) - Robert Redford (tour de force performance by Redford)

September 17

3 Days to Kill (2014) - Kevin Costner (decent actioner)

September 27

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013) - Raunchy comedy with some truly hilarious moments. Not for everyone.

Thanks indeed to Mr.G for starting this useful thread. There is so much to watch on NF and it changes so frequently, it takes a collaborative effort such as this thread to keep up.

The new listing for October 2014 is now available, the author has expanded the listing to also include iTunes and Hulu.

The new listing for November 2014 is now online. For some reason Amazon Prime was excluded this month.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/31/showbi...unes-november/

Some highlights on Netflix this month are The Rocketeer, Total Recall and Nebraska.

Annoying that Amazon Prime is not included and why is Hulu Plus crap in there. Nothing ticks me off more when I see something new on there because they have annoying ads I get turned off right away which is why I rarely use Hulu Plus and I am only getting it free though Bing. Also who cares about iTunes where everything is PPV.

I noticed it's there now. Perhaps I missed it in initial look or it was inserted later. Dunno.

Quite a few older classic films added in this December...good stuff. As well as Netflix's own production Marco Polo on December 12.

And some recent hits like The Wolf of Wall Street.

Netflix will release some info in advance. Note that most titles are big studio ones so part of studio PR. The smaller titles are not listed. They used to provide most all listings in advance to developers who had sites with the info but the distributors complained.

I am ticked at Netflix. They are removing so much classic TV shows. Most I finished already but some I did not now today Quincy ME is expiring too. I guess they only care about newer original junk as most subscribers to Netflix are minimums.
