Looking forward to you more-bad-news-for-Comcast links! Am seriously contemplating/researching cutting the cord and I expect a wrestling match with them when I try to drop Triple Play and try to get a good price on internet only. The bastids have a convoluted and devious pricing schedule. Almost as opaque as determine what an effing Rx will cost in advance of purchasing an Rx plan.

BTW, that chair on the Caribbean has WiFi.

I cut the cable back in 2013 when Comcast started encrypting the Basic tier. I only had them for TV and AT&T for broadband. AT&T began failing on my last year so I dropped them and just got Comcast broadband only no TV. I have to say they are reliable and if there is an outage which are rare it gets back up quickly. That's probably because more than the Internet is effected. This at almost half the price of AT&T's broadband service. When the year promo is over the price only goes up $10 (at least for now). But there is a third line which is FTTP in the neighborhood breathing down Comcast's neck so the price might not go up. Unfortunately for the moment that FTTP service misses me by one house.

Have you compared prices between FTTP and Comcast? ATT broadband is wired?

My Comcast tier is 60 Mbps which will be $60 a month after the $50 promo expires. The FTTP is Wave which has 250 Mbps often at $20 for a year promo and around $70 after. Reliability for me is a huge issue since I work from home.
