FOX studios' strategy is working.

• Here in Canada, the premium we have to pay for the UHD version is $15 on average ($10 minimum, and up to $20).
- 'Deadpool' on UHD = $10 and $15 more (depending where...Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon). ...Walmart is the very worst.

I watched 5 minutes of this film and turned it off. 4K. Dolby Atmos and HDR can't make me watch a silly, stupid movie.

So why did you buy it? Just curious. Both the wife and I enjoyed the movie, the 4k, the soundtrack, everything. It's a superhero movie, a cheesy popcorn movie, dumb fun type of movie but well worth the UHD BD price.

I can't enjoy a superhero who is crass and vulgar. The comic books I read as a kid had superheros and villains that didn't use offensive language. It's just a matter of zeitgeist, I suppose. So, to each his own. For example, today's kids say Yo! I got corrected by adults for saying Hey!

I thought it was a nice departure from the cookie cutter, formulaic super hero movies.

The vulgarity was a big plus and the increased violence and thematic portions of the film made it exciting and funny.

So you bought a movie without knowing any details? A 2 min search would have told you this was R rated which includes lots of vulgarity. I'm speechless how little research people do. Then again reading lots of the product thread show people asking the same questions over and over again. Just lazy people in this day and age.

It was vulgar and crude. The violence was over the top. I loved it.
This is coming from a guy who usually does not find most juvenile humor (ie hangover) very funny. Yes, many of the lines were vulgar but some of them were clever as well. I is the antithesis of your average superhero movie.
I do not have Atmos yet, but the surround was excellent in 7.1 and my larger 70" TV is not 4K but it looked great anyway.

No matter where you go, There you are ;)

Quite amusing for people to watch a Deadpool movie not knowing the background of Deadpool, or even checking the story, and getting mad for Deadpool doing what Deadpool does. Also funny people don't know who Colossus is, and I don't even actively collect comic books.

Anyways, these complaints remind me of the time I saw Andrew Dice Clay live, and several couples got offended and walked out. I mean, what were you thinking? I fully understand not liking it because it was cheesy, but preaching about the vulgarity just shows an ignorance of the subject matter. I read the same reviews on Amazon, people buy a DVD player and give it negative reviews because it won't play Blu-ray, even though it never advertised it would. Off my soap box...

As far as the movie, I fully agree with Ralph about HDR and the fires. That is where it most shows to me, as well as the sky during day shots. The Revenant is the only other UHD blu-ray I have purchased so far and I am pretty happy with my OLED, so I will be buying more.

The R rating should have been your first hint that it's not a kids movie. I thought the story was great. My friend complained about it saying that kids were going to this movie at the theatre. Well, parents should be monitoring what their kids see (I have three kids and you can bet your @ss they won't be seeing R rated movies when they're teeny boppers). I'm glad they didn't water it down to get a pg-13 rating. Can you imagine how much better The Hunger Games would be if they didn't tone it down (hint: read the books and you'll know what I mean)?

Do your research first, then decide.

deadpool's whole persona is basically an R-Rated spiderman...which is why Ryan Reynolds was perfect for this part, especially if you saw Van Wilder. We saw a glimpse of this in the Wolverine Origin Movie but it didn't do Deadpool justice.

For a comic character that came out in the early 90s this is a breath of fresh air from the squeaky clean super heros we are used to.

It's a comedy about an anti-superhero. It's a load of fun to watch if you have the right mindset but it could potentially turn some people off. Growing up in the 80s, I love it's throw back humor and used of cheesy 80s music.

Did not get a chance to see this in the theater, but was a blind buy after reading this review. The movie is a lot of fun and the audio mix on this ROCKED!

Just watch-it last night.

Me and my honey, Loved it for what it was, lots of action, well recorded and good picture

That said, one part of the movie took me by surprise.
Since I do not know yet how to make an hidden quote, read on if you saw the movie.
If not, skip the next paragraph, if you still read-it, I will try to not give away too much in the next paragraph.

There is that scene when the main character mention, it is harder for your loved one finding out you have cancer.
I found this part, too be so true!
My wife went through 3 surgery in 14 months, and it was Hell.
But now, if she get a pass next week for her 18 months check.
It will be a year and a half cancer free
But yesterday, I found out that I have been tested positive for colon cancer.
And it did hit Her harder than me, so that part of the movie hit so true and home for me.

Back to my mini review

In short, very entertaining with good sound that is not over done and a nice clear picture
Looking forward for the next instalment

Just a heads up for those buying this soon. I hit a batch of bad discs. It took until disc number 4 that I found one that could play. It wasn't my player as i tried the same discs in other players without success. Went through 2 at Frys and 2 at BBuy. The 2nd BBuy one worked.
