The Daniel Craig Collection

4K Ultra HD to Include Dolby Vision®

Los Angeles, CA (September 19, 2019) – Today Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced THE DANIEL CRAIG COLLECTION, the complete collection of the four James Bond films starring Daniel Craig as 007, which will be available for the first time on 4K Ultra HD™ in Dolby Vision®. Beginning October 22nd, Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre will be available to own as a Collection for the ultimate at home movie-watching experience. The release features the extended unrated version of Casino Royale and includes select special features on Casino Royale and Skyfall.

>From his introduction in Casino Royale through to his most recent mission in Spectre, Daniel Craig as Bond has experienced explosive action and adventures while his character crisscrossed the globe in a non-stop quest for justice.

Craig is currently in production on his fifth installment as James Bond in the franchise’s highly-anticipated 25th feature film NO TIME TO DIE from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM), and Universal Pictures International, which is set for U.S. theatrical release on April 10, 2020.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs of THE DANIEL CRAIG COLLECTION will feature Dolby Vision® ultra-vivid imaging. When compared to a standard picture, Dolby Vision® can deliver spectacular colors never before seen on a screen, highlights that are up to 40 times brighter, and blacks that are 10 times darker. No Time to Die is due for release on 8 April, 2020. I know of no UHD BD release date, but I assume that it'll be in July or later. Should they have waited until then to release the set?

Not to defend them, but this sort of thing seems inevitable for film series.

Yes, if you are going to call it The Daniel Craig Collection - and you know he only has one movie left...

Wait until you have the entire collection.

I am a big fan of the newer Bond films so much so that I have all the current Blu-Rays. Looking at the specs and there is no DTS-X or Atmos which these type of movies are made for using and unfortunately Dolby Vision is no use to me for a projector although I imagine it being 4K still has benefits.

They should maybe have waited until the last film is completed and more would double dip for that set.

I'm with everyone else who has commented on this release. Why not wait until the final Daniel Craig film is released and why not include a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. Like one of the previous posters, I too have a projector in my home theater so for now Dolby Vision is not critical to me. I might have double dipped if Dolby Atmos had been included, but since it is not in the cards, I think that I will pass. My 2K Bluray discs will suffice for me for now.

Why not go for the whole nine yards? Wait until No Time to Die is available, and then release a UHD set of all 25 Bond films. (Those are just the Eon Productions Bonds.) Preferably with Atmos or DTS:X remixed audio.

It'd be unfortunate if they just used the scans for the DVD set. I believe that may have been done for the BluRay set (excluding the Daniel Craig movies).

Yea this doesn’t make sense. I thought the same thing when HBO was releasing box sets of the existing seasons of GoT while there was seasons still airing. This makes it “A” Daniel Craig collection, not “The” Daniel Craig collection.

As long as it results in my 4K iTunes copies getting HDR I don't care what they call it and the sooner the better.

(Though they could take more time for ATMOS ... why wouldn't they)

Some historical perspective: When MGM released Bond 50, 1962-2012, the slot for Skyfall was a cardboard disc that reads "This Space Reserved For Skyfall. In Theaters Fall 2012. Look For It On Blu-ray And DVD In 2013".

Will they sell these individually? And why no Atmos? Was Christopher Nolan in charge of the audio mix?

Also, I have no problem with MGM releasing this. Just like everything else, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Caveat emptor.

Since his bond films have been hit or miss consistently, with Spectre being a HUGE miss, we may as well wait for the final one. If his cyclic pattern continues to hold true, it will certainly be a hit, which will give us 3 good movies. Only including 4 of the movies should be called "The Daniel Craig Selection", not "The Collection".

I'll wait for the reviews. If not true 4k, and with no immersive format, I have no reason to double dip unless the set is priced really low, which we all know won't be.

Lol, you are asking the real questions. I can't be bothered to buy this whole set, which I imagine will be at least $80, that doesn't have Atmos or DTS:X. I hope they are sold individually.

I’m excited for this set, but I’m only buying it if Ralph’s review of the entire set for Audio and video renders it worthy of purchase—-Don’t prematurely sit these out based on the non-immersive audio....remember Dunkirk?

This! It bugs me to no end to have a "collection" and then one more season or movie tacked on as a separate in my collection. Bothers my OCD something fierce.

They will no doubt be selling "The COMPLETE Daniel Craig Collection" this time next year to cater to people like me. Blu-rays are pretty good, but that hasn't stopped me from double and triple-dipping on stuff I already own in the past when the UHD allure becomes to great...
