Not an issue. Same has happened on my thread and others. Sort of the nature of the beast. All good!

You must have not spent much time in the JTR speaker thread a few years ago. I popped in one am to my AVS subs page and saw like 80 new posts in the JTR thread and was thinking "Awesome! Something great must have happened, let's see whats going on with JTR!!!"......

two PAGES of car talk, lol. Not a single speaker related post anywhere to be found. Fastest way to diffuse a testy situation here on avs, just mention anything with two or four wheels and your good to go

It actually doesn't come naturally to me.

I use my cars to commute, and like to differentiate myself from other cars just a slight bit like, a lesser popular model, or perhaps powdercoated wheels...but never enough to brag about them. Now my car stereos in the past (to tie everything back around somewhat), now THOSE I would have easily bragged about. Now that I have a home my efforts have 100% shifted.

Nice. How many of us, if we didn't have a theater build going would be working on our cars? That's me but I'm aspiring to be able to do both at the same time.

Yup, I've been totally ignoring these two due to theater build.... that pause button has been pressed for a couple years now.

I remember you posting about your 3000 GT. Looks like a VR4? Rare car indeed.

I haven't driven my FD in about 6 years. It needs a new engine. Building a house and having kids means no time and no money for the cars.

Yes, 91 VR-4 with a 99 front (bumper/lights). I love the FDs, though it is one of the few engine bays whose complexity intimidates me - that's saying something coming from a VR-4 owner. With a blown engine, I'd be tempted to "ruin" it with a turbo LS....

When I started the theater, I was in the middle of an audio install on Shakira (the G35)... all of that gear is sitting in the trunk waiting for its turn to come around again. Red (the VR-4) has a lot of small projects left to do, though she runs and drives fine.

Thanks! I would maybe take the Stealth B/C pillars and quarter window over the same parts of the 3000GT, but for the rest of the car the 3000GT wins my vote. Fortunately they made both flavors.

I know a guy who had a Stealth in great shape a few years ago. He quickly dumped it when the throwout bearing started making a sound. He was too intimidated to do a clutch job on it. Cool car though.

The rotary engine in the FD isn't that bad. The sequential twin turbo system is the unreliable part. Once you get rid of it and go single turbo, it's all good. These days with the new B&W EFR turbos you don't even add any turbo lag.

Given my license plate (that I've renewed for several years even though I don't drive it), will give you a hint on where I stand on LS swaps.

The next best thing to a rotary for that space? A Tesla motor..

I can't stand LS swaps, especially since all GM did was copy Ford's 302/351 cylinder heads and intake manifolds to beat Robert Yates' Cleveland headed motors in NASCAR.

I can see Tesla motor swaps being the next big thing, but it'll NEVER compare to Mazda 4 rotor (see 787B videos)!

Hmmm....so this is what happens when a thread doesn't get regular theater build updates!! I honestly didn't realize the level of desperation to keep the conversation going in my absence! For this, I am truly sorry....

I feel like I'm in a constant state of 'catch up' with this thread, but I'll redouble my efforts to ensure high-quality AV content and an "LS-swap" free zone.

Meanwhile, last week I was finally able to check off an AVS Forum theater visit 5+ years in the making....
