So something good happened that finally now lets me blow upwards to $250000 on a construction of a Home Theater. However, I'm still fairly new, so I would need suggestions regarding room material, depth underground, room-in-a-room wall separation distance, Room Shape, etc for within 50 sq.ft (That will be dug in the ground). I would also need some suggestions regarding equipment that fits the style of a gamer and a movie fanatic with a taste for immersion and the highest fidelity possible. I got some equipment listed here in case anyone needs to correct some of my choices or add something that will cost less for the same performance:
Overall Setup: (11.2 with 4K 3D Capabilities)
  • A/V Processor: Marantz AV8801
  • Amplfier: Can't think of one nearly 0.01% THD of at least 5kW to 10kW
  • Projection Screen: 250" to 300" or a custom Stewart StudioTek Filmscreen
  • Speakers:
    • Front LR: Revel Ultima Salon 2
    • Center: Revel Ultima Voice2
    • Surround LR: Revel Ultima Salon2
    • Rear LR: Revel Ultima Salon2
    • Front Height LR: Revel Ultima Gem2
    • Front Wide LR: Revel Ultima Gem2
    • Subwoofer: Eminent Tech's Rotary Woofer or Paradigm's Sub 2 or "RELL's Steroid Subwoofer"(If something that enormous even exist)
  • Projector: Dual Sony VPL-VW1000ES 4K 3D Projector($25,000) or a Runco Signature Cinema SC-60d($90,000)
  • Custom HTPC(In case anyone is wondering about the specs) (It's for Gaming on 4K/Dual 4K 3D/4K, Rendering, A/V Decoding with Codecs)
    • CPU: Intel Core i7-4960X
    • Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
    • RAM: G-SKILL 64GB
    • GPU: 3-Way GTX Titans(Due to a much stabler driver than AMD's loud 290x)
    • PSU: EVGA SuperNova NEX 1500
    • Chassis: NZXT Phantom 820
    • Optical Drive: 2x LG 16X BDXL Burner
    • Cooling: Custom Liquid Cooling Loop and Liquid Nitrogen
    • HDD/SDD : RAID 10 10x 512GB Samsung SSDs
  • Solar Panels?
  • Video Upscaler/Processor?
  • D-Box Motion Platform for 5 Seats
  • Xbox One
  • Playstation 4
  • PG&E Direct Power Feed????
  • A Control System(Cinemar,Crestron,etc)
  • Bluray Player: Oppo's Universal Player

The suggestions posted for the room will be modeled in Revit and uploaded here so that if there are any corrections, it will be uploaded here to be edited by anyone by November 15. After this, I will take it up to the local City Hall to acquire licenses to modify property and call up some contractors with the approval of my parents along with it who currently owns the property. By December or February, if everything goes well, digging would start and by July or September, Drywall may be hopefully added along with the soffits and the stage upfront that isolates the speaker vibrations. Hopefully, by 2015, Speakers are being installed along with the control systems plus LED lightings and the "star" ceiling which me and my parents like. By end of 2015, the projectors and projection screen may have been mounted and is ready to be calibrated by ISF Technicians and THX or by myself, and finally by October, I hope it is finished just right for my birthday and football season. Thank you for helping me in this endeavour and making a childhood dream of immersive movies come true!

Went from "$1,000 subwoofer budget on the second floor of a town house built in the 1990's" to a $250,000 dedicated theatre below grade in 2 months? neat.

Must have hit the lottery. The other thread had a budget of $350.00.

If you plan to spend that kind of money, I strongly recommend getting a professional design, such as Erskine Group, or a comparable outfit. Well worth every penny, even if it takes a little extra time.

"room-in-a-room wall separation distance, Room Shape,etc for within 50 sq.ft "

Did I misread that? I don't think you really need $250k for a 50 sq ft room? That's like a 5'x10' room........

The number could be mistyped.... 500sq.ft. or x50sq.ft. ?

Alternatively, he's asking us for the size, +/- 50sq.ft.

Codename - the Larch theater
