As this project is looking much more like a nice theater and bar, and less like an arcade, I figured I better come up with a better name...

I like it, nice clean, a classic feel. Looks fantastic!

The top font looks like Broadway, what is the font below it?

Welp, the mini PC arrived last night. I haven't bought that specific brand before, I usually buy the $199 Azulletech boxes at work for digital signage as they have HDMI and RGB out for dual monitor, support 4k playback with HD500 graphics, have 4GB RAM and include Win 10 Pro to join the domain. The one I grabbed was $119, but it still had the extra RGB monitor port as well as the HDMI (which many of these cheaper small form factors choose to drop).

Long story short, the build quality is ****, I mean I don't expect much from these budget boxes, but simply moving this thing a little while turned on caused it to lose power, so yep total garbage.

Also I hadn't realized that the 50" screen didn't actually have an RGB port (DOH!!) just HDMI and component. I tried using an RGB-to-Component cable that I had lying around but that didn't work.

All that being said, it was time to go back to the drawing board on the PC itself, something I missed on the compute sticks and these cheaper mini PCs is they are running older Z8350 chipsets and only 2GB of DDR3 which is a bit tight.

$188 shipped (via Amazon Prime) scores me an ECS LIVA Z N3350 Intel Mini PC 4K UHD Apollo Lake Dual LAN, DDR4 beast!!

It has an Apollo Lake N3350 SOC with Intel HD505 Graphics (Much more powerful than the Z8350 graphics chipset seen on compute sticks, especially as the HD5xx series has hardware HVEC decoding for 4k at 60fps should I choose to get fancy later on).

Also very interesting that it has some things I've never seen on a mini platform...
- HDMI and Mini Display Port!!
- 4GB of 1600mhz DDR4 (instead of the usual DDR3)
- 3x USB 3.0 Ports
- M.2 Expansion port (USB C or thunderbolt)
- AC Wifi (Instead of the usual BGN at this form factor)
- DUAL Gig LAN - WTF???

Then the usual 32GB of flash storage Bluetooth 4.1 and SD Card slot, lets see how that one works out.

Lol. Yeah that's my girlfriend and she knows how bad I am with my projects and constant need to make things. Thankfully she's very easy going.

Everything looking good with the outer frame complete and the first layer of Poly stain on all the trim. A little engineering work to do to make sure the IR works for the TV and I can manage turning the PC on and off once all of this is wall mounted.

I used a golden glitter clear paint over the top of the copper paint to give it a vintage look. You can still see the wood texture underneath which seems to lend to the character quite well.

Agree, it’s all looking

What’s the workflow like when you want to Display the poster and trailer?

You just manually set background of the desktop to the poster and load the trailer on the other monitor?

No it's a software package made by a forum member here called Movie Poster App.

I'm sorry if I missed this earlier but do you mind sharing what incandescent lights you used around the perimeter? And how are they connected/controlled?

Thanks - looks great!

These are actually clear globe filament LEDs, nothing more than a string of 25 lights you would hang in your Yard or patio. $24 on Amazon

What would you say roughly you have in cost of materials to build this? including the tvs?
