DIY box time.. here's what 8 UM18-22 subs will look like in your room. I designed the front and rear subs and will add the nearfield once you give me the exact size you have to work with. The pictures below are the cut list for your drivers double check my math but I think you should be good to go.

This is the rear sub box as you can see there both the pretty close to the same tune maybe off by .20 which really is nothing. The goal is to match the same size internal cubic ft and tune so he has no issues in his room.

Just remember anything is possible!!!!!!!! You dream it up I'll design it... your nearfield box can be any shape I'll figure out the port for it and get it the box to match the front and rear's. Take your time with it and once you get tired with building it walk away and come back a few days later. You have my number along with a few others my phone is always on. YOU got this!!!

Wow Mike, thanks for the break down of each box, your making it so easy for for me.

I knew I would have some output but this is going to be insane but in a real good way.

Ha! We will cross paths soon I know it. I am curious how those numbers will measure real world. I don’t really hit 130 at my main listening position but that could be because of level matching with mains I’m not running my bass as loud as possible I guess. My house can’t handle it. I wonder what my 8 18’s look like on paper.

Mike your the man. You not only help us guys out, but you go way above and beyond. I am so happy with my nearfield boxes you designed for me. What a great feeling every time I get to sit down and watch at least some clips. Thanks for what you do!

Well I just got back from an amazing trip to Michigan where I met up with Jeremy @hd0823 to pick up a bunch of stuff which I will comment on a little later. Thanks again Jeremy for being my storage until I make a trip down.

The highlight of the weekend was the GTG at this link I am providing below, what a gtg, a hostess to greet you with your name tag, food on every flat surface and a bartender. The HT was incredible, 2 stacked Sony laser projectors (MSRP each $60k) so go from there and you can imagine what everything looked and sounded like.

https://www.avsforum.com/forum/61-are...965876?page=17

So onto what I picked up:

My LCRs QSC SC 2150s parts only so I will be providing a link when I start the build probably next week since my life just got really busy.

I was like a kid in a candy store, it was like x-mas all over again.
This is what they will look like when they are done hopefully

I have more pictures but I’ll post them in the new thread once I start it. There are a few items I not sure what they are.

Holy cow those are big speakers. I can't wait to assemble and fire up my HTM-12s, but I have to admit that they would look pathetic next to those QSCs.

Hey @Blue those HTM12 will be awesome, I’ve heard they are crystal clear and very clean sounding. As per the QSCs, they are amazing speaker there are a few guys on here that can attest to this. I couldn’t pass up the deal I got on them, so Jared and Mike do be mad because they were about $1000 less than the Titans, yes I still have to buy the wood for the cabinets.

Hey Blue thanks for checking out the thread, slow go but I’m hoping by winter to be done.

Trust me I was going to be apart of the elite Titans club but I had to jump ship and go to the dark side with Jeremy especially after hearing his because you are never home to hear yours lol.

That’s no fair man. Hehe. You will love the 2150’s. I heard them in Jeremy’s living room for ****** sake. I helped him install them into his baffle wall. I helped tune his system (bass heavy of course) and I’m so happy for him. Those qsc’s sound fantastic. Enough bass for the average person without subs.

I don't know how elite it is, but I have been using one of my partially assembled Titans as an extra workspace in the shop while building other things, lol. It worked well as a support to hold up the roll of GoM fabric while I was upholstering ceiling modules. I guess I have to actually finish building them and fire them up to be part of this club?

I’m sure you will but having 8 18” subs and 4 inuke will give your a better chance but I can’t answer because Jared put that out there as an elite club and I’m not apart of it either

Mahuzz Theatre with enough bass even eng-399 approves

Well not much of an update but I picked up more drywall that should almost finish the basement. Life has gotten in the way of production on finishing the drywall but wow all I can say every time I come home my 76 year old father in law has done some sort of drywall all by himself, he is truly an amazing man. He said I’m out of drywall you have to get more so I can keep going. So I picked up 28 sheets from 1/2” but most 5/8 10’ long and he met me up at the house to bring them in.

Hopefully life will slow down a bit and I can help him out

I have a question for all the bass head out there. Eng-399 (Mike) has designed my rear subs which are 30”wx55”hx14”w and I will be putting them inside the wall about 7”. The 2 subs will be on the rise, each at either side with the ports pointing out and they will be behind fabric.

So here’s the question when finishing the baseboards around the back of the room I didn’t really want to stop the baseboard at the ports so I was thinking of building a small platform that would raise them up about 6-10”. Can anyone tell if there will be any concerns with having them on a platform or behind the fabric.

Ran two 2” conduits one from my hydro panel and the other from my modem to the AV closet, what a mess of wires there. Hopefully I have thought of everything I could possibly run since the basement is getting very close to being all closed in with drywall.

Can someone answer this for me before I finish the drywall today where the projector is going.
I ran a conduit to my projector I need to know if the HDMI, power cord and Ethernet cable run through the mounting pole or beside. This will determine where I put my hole in the ceiling. Picture below is my mount and pole.
