Nearly finished the room this weekend. Still need to make the back wall "palace" columns and paint the back wall maroon. Then some random odds n ends before the floor goes down.

The room is nearly complete now. Just the carpet and baseboards left. Then its a week of hooking everything up. The Fusions will go in the room, but those mbms arent. I still need to make the Juggernog subs and frame the back wall posters. The plan is to have everything but the Jug subs finished next weekend. Ive included a 3D render and some images of the room themes. Call Of Duty Zombies front wall and The Last Airbender back wall.

After 5 months of work, the room is finally setup. Still need to hang some posters and the back wall art. That deck is just a make shift desk till I can finish the new one. It will also have my UM18s in it as nearfield. The surround speakers will eventually be Volt10s on the wall and the Mini Marties will be replaced with the Juggernog Full Martie / Fusion10 combo. The room sounds incredible. We were very surprised with the amount of pressure in there. Ill be posting some graphs soon. Hopefully I can do some calibration next week on my vacation.

The Marties are 30" deep so there's not quite enough room for my truck. The Juggernog Marties Im building will be about 21" deep, so that will give just enough room to park in here during the occasional hurricane.

Last weekend I was able to knock out the subwoofer desk. I decided to go with three UM18s in a sealed 12ft cabinet. This build has made the room flat to 12Hz so far. Im hoping once I finish the Juggernog Ful Marties for the front wall, I will be in single digits. Theres a build thread on those that I started today.

As for the stuff on the desk, yes, there is a little noise, but only at demo levels. I was able to cushion everything to allow for clean normal listening levels. However, I will be modifying the desk to separate the top from the cabinet. The finish is just latex paint. I also included a couple pics of the Buttkicker.

Saturday, I started the Juggernog Full Marties build. This will house a UM18 and Fusion10 and be the front wall L&R mains and subs.

Another update on the theater/gaming room. Everything is built, painted and running smooth. The only movie we've watched so far was Venom. The opening crash scene made me change that desk. It was originally attached to the sub cabinet. Those red and white boxes are Juggernog machines, like the little one on the left. I have a guy coming over Saturday to give me a price on painting the lettering on them. They are UM18 full Marties tuned to 16Hz, with Fusion10s built in. That center channel is a Fusion10s hybrid sitting on a Mystery Box. All from Call of Duty Zombies. The kids have hosted three gaming marathons in the room since Thanksgiving. The back wall is from Avatar The Last Airbender. My youngest is into PC gaming, so the back section is his. My oldest is a PS4 guy so the front is his. Just ran REW tonight, the room is flat to 9.5Hz. I'll try to get it down a little lower and post some pics of the graph soon.

Overall impressions of the room...
This started out as a dedicated theater. After reading a thread about how people often regret spending the time and money on a room that ends up only being used every once in a while, we decided to make it a multi purpose room. The themes are inspired by my two sons. They helped come up with the rooms design.I told them to spend a couple weeks imagining anything they wanted as a starting point, and Id either do it, or make whatever modifications necessary to make it work. Fortunately they didn't come up with anything too complicated. The room is now the most used space in the house, and everyone can be in there, doing their own thing without bothering anyone else. There's three more TVs in the room tucked away for everyone to use. As for movies, there's no room treatments, so there is some peaks and dips in the room, but no real echos. The overall sound is very clean, and there's a great surround effect. The bass is wonderful. Five UM18s and a Buttkicker LFE on three NU/NX6000 amps makes for more than I can handle for more than a short demo. I'm hosting a GTG in a couple weeks to reveal the room to a local Florida AVS group. Once I finish the lettering on the Juggernog Machines, I'll post in the "Show me your finished theater" sticky thread.

Turns out the guy I hired to do the lettering was my oldest sons principal at the high school he went to. Small world. All that's left is to dye the grills and this project is ready for the "Show me your finished theater" thread.

The GTG this Saturday was a blast. About 12 people showed up with lots of different speakers, both retail and DIY. We all just went back and forth to the room demo and speaker shootout in the living room. The sound containment was definitely noticeable. We had the theater running about as hot as it would go and it had no effect on the shootout in the next room. Thanks to everyone that helped me along the way. The initial measurements with all five UM18s shows the room flat to under 9Hz, without any EQ yet. In a couple weeks, I will be posting the final pics here and in the "Show me your finished theater" thread.

Recently @Mattcc22 modeled my room in REW. Putting four full marties in the corners flatten flatten the response at the MLP. This weekend I decided to replace the columns with a set of full marties. They are identical in volume and tune as the Juggernog Full Marties on the front wall, 11ft tuned to 16Hz. In the pic, you can see the original column has trim on the bottom, and the sub has a gap at the top. Eventually I will put some feet on the subs to lift them. That will give me the room for trim and a way to hide all the wires. I should have the second one finished this Sunday. The graph is all three Full Marties and a pair of 18" sealed nearfield at the MLP with EQ.

Finished the second column sub Sunday before the game. Didn't have time to EQ it yet, just a measurement. The first graph is all four marties in the corners, the second is is just three marties. Now all that's needed is to mod the desk sub for two 18s instead of three and this project is complete. Till I find something else to change. The third is EQ and house curve applied. Last night I was able to EQ the subs and test them. Corner loading did exactly what REW said it would do. Before the changes, there was a lull at the MLP, and all the bass was on the back wall. Now the lull is on the back wall and all the bass is at the MLP. Time well spent.

The room is finally finished. Ill likely work on some wire management eventually, but as far as construction and gear goes, this project is a wrap. I think it took about 6 months to build the room and all the speakers.

This is just the equipment in the room. I built the PC about three years ago for my youngest son. The entire case is made out of Lexan.

These are some REW measurements from this weekend. I started a thread on sound treatments.

It's been quite some time since I updated this thread. A lot of things have been changed. All my electronics are hidden in the Mystery Box and the computer is hanging on the wall now. The most recent change has been to the subwoofer system. I sold all 8 of my 18's, the two Buttkicker LFE's and all four of my amps and replaced them with three HS-24mk3 drivers in 11.5ft^3 sealed cabinets. This room is capable of some truly amazing levels of bass output, over 130dB, and over 110dB in the single digits. All that's left now is to upgrade to a 4k projector, and upgrade my surround and Atmos speakers to Volt8's.
