Screen Wall Attach to Stage?

I've seen the suggestion to not attach the screen wall to the stage which makes sense to avoid the screen vibrating.
However, most designs I've seen show the screen wall built on top of the stage.
I'm thinking of a standard framed stage filled with sand on top of roofing felt and a couple layers of OSB on top with green glue between.,

So what would the experts here recommend? Thanks!

Not an expert but mine is attached to the stage. Never thought about screen vibrations so I hope it doesn't I used mineral wool instead of sand. But from what I've read the pink fluffy stuff is just as effective and much easier on your back.

If your stage is vibrating enough that it is making the screen vibrate, something is wrong with your stage design.

Most people build a stage that extends behind the acoustically transparent screen to help raise the speakers up. Other than that, there is no functional requirement to have the stage extend behind the screen. You could just as easily build the screen frame on the floor and then build the stage in front of it if you use some sort of boxes or stands to raise the speakers to the proper height.

I've built numerous screen walls on stages, never heard a complaint about the screen moving, If anything I would think a wall of sub-woofers would cause a problem, but as far a I know they didn't.

Though not huge, the cavity behind the stage probably won't help acoustics.

Thanks everyone, I must have read advice wrong somewhere on separating the screen wall from the stage. I'll just mount the screen wall to the stage - it will support an AT screen with speakers and subwoofer behind the screen on the stage.

Thanks, glad I asked!
