It is an Apple app: Poker Timer by Robin Apps. I really like it. I think with all options it was $7.

I use screen mirror to an older (720p) Apple TV

You guys are just mean.

Painting was difficult. Primer went on easy. I did 2 coats. I grabbed a gallon of Valspar Signature flat black and applied a top coat. It would not dry. 14 days later and it was still tacky. Humidity has been high, but holy crap.

On Sunday it was less humid out, so I applied coat #2 . It rained the next day. Grrr.

This is what it looks like right now.

I have gotten two 20A circuits pulled upstairs. I am ready for more amps.

I had the electricians pull a cat 6 wire for me. I now have a hardwired ethernet connection for the equipment rack. The "2Gbps" powerline bridge was only getting me about 30 Mbps. Now I have the full >400Mbps available.

I am still waiting on my shade vendor to do the install on the 3 windows that are behind the pull down screen. Once I get that done, I will get serious about rotating the room 90 degrees and hanging the curved fixed screen. Then I can start doing the room treatments.

Coat number 2 did not go a whole lot better. It is the paint, not the humidity. I baked it in the sun a bit since the last post. Seemed to help except the door warped. I was able to get that mostly straightened out. I am not happy. The paint scuffs pretty easily. But, I decided that it was good enough to press on. I did the electrical and the T-Molding. It is pretty much ready to cart upstairs and assume the position next to the pinball machine. I want rework the monitor so it cannot wiggle with vigorous play.

Oh look....My curved fixed screen is STILL sitting on the floor.

Had a few difficulties with workmanship that my vendor is going to fix. I keeping my fingers crossed.

New little wrinkle on the audio front....

I was running through the first couple of Terminator movies with friends last week. I had a funny sound on ultra loud passages. it was a failed RSS460HO-4 18” subwoofer. The issue seems to be in the electrical connection beneath the cone. If I gently touch the area where the conductors are in the ridged area, it starts playing. Same if I press down on the dust cap and cause some deflection in this area.

@chadsmith013 is really helping me out with hopefully getting a warranty repair rather than spending $300+ on a replacement.

Been awhile since I have made a post. Part Express exchange went smoothly. Thumbs up to them and @chadsmith013 !

Some progress on the windows. Roller shades and side channels installed. I have the Somfy bridge talking to the Crestron system. I can roll the shades up and down with the hand controller, iPhone, or the Crestron. Still working with the contractor to get the inserts for the side channels. I still need to do caulking between the channels and walls to block light. This is not quite good enough.

Hopefully, I will get that rectified soon since I am in process of rotating the room.

Curved fixed screen assembled.

Wall painted flat black.

Screen hung.

Projector has been relocated to its new location. Riser rework in progress. This is the disassembly. The room is awfully crowded with everything disassembled. Moving things around is a lot like one of those sliding puzzles.

The plan is to add to the height. I am inserting 2x4 under the 2x6 and replacing the single 1/2" plywood with 2 layers of 3/4". Installing insulation, adding electrical and creating a step.

Next is mounting the surrounds and running the wires.

Finished up the riser. I paid a carpet company rather than doing the carpet on the riser myself.

Four Volt 10s ordered for the Atmos speakers. Now I need another amp. Likely, Emotiva XPA7 to free up the Denon channels for overheard.

Atmos Speakers

Finally the Volt 10's were back in stock. They arrived on the last day before working from became a thing. Two boxes are parts are always better than 1:

Assembly and clamping is a bit easier than the angled flat packs.

However mounting wasn't. There was a pretty tricky angle to deal with (compound for the front left). I was really glad I only assembled 2 boxes with backs and sides. They get heavy over your head,

A little duratex

4 pretty drivers

Bolted to the ceiling

All 4 installed

New Amps

I broke down and bought new amplifiers. It was a bit of a struggle to determine the configuration. I narrowed in on the Emotiva line and the Monoprice line. Both had a chassis with a power supply that was utilized with individual amps connected to the PS rails. Depending on the configuration, you could get all 11 channels out of the same box, sacrificing available power.

Ultimately, I opted for the Emotiva. One chassis for LCR (XPA-3) and a different setup for the non-Atmos surrounds (A-5175).

Crazy part was they were delivered to the wrong house about 4 miles away. Luckily, the mailing label had my phone number and the home owner called me. Turns out he was a custom installer in a previous life.

Nicely packed.

Both unpacked and ready for a bourbon break.

Installed

The next day Emotiva sent out a text promotion. 30% of purchase price worth of future store credit for any purchase. F-me!

I sent an email to customer service the next day to see if they would extend the 30% to my prior purchase. The DID. They earned some loyalty with me for that. So, I picked up another A-5175 for the Atmos surrounds I was building. I retired the Denon AVR-4806 that my friend Barry had given me early in my HT pursuit. (Thanks again Barry!)

Retired Denon (They don't make back panels like this any more. It was also a 55lb beast.)

That necessitated an entire rack shuffle and rewiring. I did a lot of clean up.

Time to start thinking about audio treatments.

At the low end, the RT60 is about 5 seconds. Way too long.
