Been reading & watching this forum on & off when needed, over the past 8 or so years, so I thought I'd post & share my plans, along with pics...on my theatre room.
It all started back last September when my wife discovered termites in the "Sill-panels" (the house is steel framed) in a room I like to call, the theatre room. Even though the damage was minimal, it was very unexpected as these things mostly are.
Anyway, after smashing the little bastards with a complete termite extermination, and waiting another 2 months for the room & areas to settle down, works began.
After getting the go-ahead from the wife (and yes, it took a little persuasion with choc's, flower...you no the drill lol), I got to work with my D.I.Y. project.
I firstly drew up some plans for what started out as just a front wall totally revamp. How wrong I was with that vision.
Since the last week in Dec 2018, I've been in that room, building everyday after work & on the weekends too, with a little help with what I call - cold refreshments....while I stare and dare to dream of my next step.
I've never attempted such an "Indoor" project.....In fact, I've never worked with gyprock before. But as I'm a retired "Spraypainter & Panelbeater" of automobiles, & with the help of You-Tube...I'm schooled up & ready to show how fussy and creative an ex spray-panelbeater can really be.
Anyway......I'll post pictures of my journey as time persist, but I'm into week 8 & I can tell you it's getting a little outa hand.
