First Theater Build - Pointers Please
There has been a ton of great information which has been a lot to digest. I am building my first dedicate home theater and in the design phase, and wall tear down. I have my front channel speakers already which are Focal Electra Tower Speakers - 1028be II and the corresponding Center Channel. I will get all the equipment after I have the room designed and underway.
I am struggling with how to place the tower speakers in the front; as I want to have an awesome Movie experience but as well have a great music experience. I am looking at a AT screen of 140" with a 4" or 3.5" edge.
If I put speakers on floor (tweeter @ ear level) then the 4" supporting back/edge will cover part of my low freq driver.
If I put speaker on stand I will have tweeter above ear level and question the sound outcome for music.
If I put speaker in front I block the screen
Want to put speaker in most optimal position..
Suggestions? Am I missing any approach without having to go with a smaller 2.35 screen?
Flip the speaker upside down?
Dr. Toole of Revel has his Salon2’s upside down, and so should you!
this would put my high driver on the deck not at ear level.. i don’t see how putting my speaker upside down provides me any acoustic value.
Slightly angled supports built for the mains are a readily available solution.
Put the L/R speakers out side the screen L/R boundaries toe in to the MLP and hide with acoustically transparent fabric.
