Theater Equipment Design Help

New home theater room is wired for Dolby Atmos 7.2.4
I plan to go with the Dolby Atmos setup. Floor tower speakers are preferred over the Front IW.
Projector must be Sony 4K VPL-VW295ES
Prefer SI screen - plan to watch movies, sports, TV and gaming
Control 4 or Savant?
Budget is $15-20K

I am getting so many different opinions from independent home theater specialists to Best Buy Magnolia. I would love to get some input here on what speaker, type of SI screen, and receiver brands are preferred within my budget.

Thanks!

Reciver I would go with denon or marantz with your budget you could get there top models. The screens tough without knowing if your wanting to hide the speakers behind the screen or not. Also do you want commercial speakers and subwoofers or DIY. DIY you can get alot more performance for your money. Theres a member near me that loves his control 4 setup. Also is this a dedicated room or open to other rooms and if dedicated what's the dimensions of the room.

I would love to DIY, but just don't have the time so commercial
Ok I was going to say jbl4722s but them will be to big to have out in the room. I know I see alot of people using rsl c34e speakers for atmos and always say good things about them. I know aperion audio and elac both make some nice towers that wont break the bank. If you want to go big theres always jtr

Golden ear does make some nice stuff for subs I would be wanting more but this comes from someone with 6 21 inch subs lol. Let's just say I really like bass . I've heard really good stuff about monoprice monolith subwoofer line. You could also always buy speakers from diysoundgroup buy there flat pack boxs and have a carpenter put them together it's hard to beat them for performance to dollar

https://www.diysoundgroup.com/home-t...sive-1099.html.

Here's the 1099s for that room you would never want to upgrade ever and fully built I bet you still would be under 550 each

I third (or fourth) DIYSound Designs. I really want some HTM (or HT) 12's but with your budget you could go with the 1099's too.

If I had the budget I'd go HTM-12's for L/C/R, and HT-8's for surrounds, and Volt 8's for Atmos. For Subs what about a couple of VBSS's?

7.4.4 Theater Room: JVC-RS46U, Silver Ticket AT 2.35:1 142”, Onkyo RZ830, Anthem PVA-7, Panasonic DBT-110, JBL Studio 270’s, 4 - 15" DIY Sealed Subs

3.1 Living Room: Samsung 64” F8500 Plasma, Anthem MRX 300, Dynaudio Audience 52’s, Dynaudio Audience 122C, NHT SubOne

Yeah with his room even the htm or ht 12s would be great. Plus like I said with his budget he could have a carpenter finish them and still be way below commercial price

If you have room you could do a minimalist false wall.

I'd also add that I wouldn't spend big bucks on a AVR or Pre-Pro as technology changes quite a bit. I'd go with something inexpensive that will let you do 7.2.4 like the Onkyo 830 or Denon 4400/4500. Both of those can be had for good prices on Accessories 4 Less but will need a additional amp to power the last two channels. You can pick up an Emotiva amp pretty inexpensively.

I'd add a Panasonic 820 UHD player as it has features that make it the best for projectors.

Don't forget to budget for accoustical treatments for your room and make sure you treat the room for your projector as well with dark walls/ceiling if possible and even a black velvet front wall.

7.4.4 Theater Room: JVC-RS46U, Silver Ticket AT 2.35:1 142”, Onkyo RZ830, Anthem PVA-7, Panasonic DBT-110, JBL Studio 270’s, 4 - 15" DIY Sealed Subs

3.1 Living Room: Samsung 64” F8500 Plasma, Anthem MRX 300, Dynaudio Audience 52’s, Dynaudio Audience 122C, NHT SubOne

Definitely do black velvet on the front it makes the wall disappear and screen appear even brighter

And FYI the definitive thread on blacking a room out is in the Projectors over 3K section, not here in the Dedicated Theater Design where you might expect. The acoustic treatment master thread is a sticky here.
