2x 12" JBL BOSS build - how to connect components?
BOSS builders, chime in please!
In my dedicated HT room I already have two powered subwoofers (both 12", sealed) on duty. But just like many others, I too became inspired by throught's BOSS setup. My back row seats are on top of an 11 " tall plywood riser that can easily accommodate my two 12" GT-X1200 JBL drivers I bought. I don't thing I'll have a problem installing them into the riser sometime next week.
What is unclear though how to power them. My original thought was to somehow connect my Emotiva BasX A-100 stereo (speaker) amp to my Denon AVR-X4400H receiver, but after looking at the back of both equipment I am not sure how to pull that of. (The two coaxial sub out-s are already connected to my two powered subs. I know the LFE signal can be split using a Y connector but would that be the right approach??)
Heck I am not even sure how to hook up the Emotiva amp to the two JBL drivers... Can I use the Emo A-100 at all, considering that it is NOT purpose built subwoofer amp?
Links to view the back plate of both electronics are in next post below.
You'll likely get many more responses in the DIY section, but yes, you could add Y connectors and use the Emotiva. I'm not sure it will produce what you're after with only 50wpc and FR of 20Hz - 20Khz (admittedly I don't have a BOSS, and I don't know what most folks are running them with).
