What does Canada produce?

I've been reading a lot about different components, whether it be speakers, or screens, or soundproofing materials, electronics, etc. I keep finding things that excite me (DIYSG!), but some of the providers either don't ship to Canada or it costs a lot to ship to Canada.

This got me wondering: What does Canada have to be envious of? Do Canadians have access to anything that is great and cheaper to get in Canada?

NOTE: I'm not seeking advice on how to get things shipped to Canada for cheap (although certainly share that info if you got it!), I'm rather inquiring about things built or designed in Canada.

Lots of speaker companies.

Anthem.

Isn't D-Box Canadian???

TV Shows such as The Expanse.

Shipping is substantially cheaper in the US. And if you are near the border, there often are postal receiving services that will receive a parcel inexpensively and you
can then leverage cheaper shipping rates, and eliminate brokerage fees.

I’m familiar of these ones. Are any of these the cause of envy to non-Canadians ? I’ve heard they’re good, but I haven’t seen them in many systems in here.

Totem has some pretty serious in wall speakers for behind an AT screen and in slim columns for surround, I've not had the opportunity to hear them. Ceiling speakers look robust.

Paradigm makes some really good speakers. I thought they were a good but nothing special company till I heard their Persona speakers at Cedia a couple of years ago. One of the best speakers I heard that year.

There is a whole school of design philosophy from Canada. It was born of research at the NRC, Floyd Toole (a Canadian) and others. The impact has been huge and ushered in the age of objective measurements. I think Canadian Paul Barton with his PSB speakers might be the most well known to be born from this. I owned a pair of Stratus Golds a long time ago and they were excellent speakers especially for the price.

Floyd moved on to Harmon and JBL/Revel continue to use his design philosophy in their speakers. A lot of people consider them some of the best speakers made.

Nope. I did consider it but was just too expensive. I went with JTR and DIYSoundGroup instead. Some stuff I had shipped directly to me and others to the Montana border and I drove down and picked it up.
