Angry Setting up 3D playback in my DIY home theater

I just put together a home theater. I'm trying to play a 3D movie through Vudu and get an error saying not capable of playing 3D. Here is my flow:

Vudu --> Xbox One X (as media player) --> Denon AVR-X4500H (Xbox input to Media Player port) --> Sony VPL-VW295ES Projector (from Denon on HMDI ARC output)

- Xbox settings have playback for 3D checked
- Denon video output set to enhanced (I tried on standard as well and didn't work)
- Sony projector output set to enhanced (I tried on standard as well and didn't work)

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

Thanks,
Scott

Is your reciever able to pass thru a 3d signal? I would try going straight from your xbox to projector first. If your projector has the option to manually go to 3d mode, do that, then load up the movie on vudu. On my system i sometimes have to have all that set up and then load a 3d movie that is on the same disc as a 2d movie. I think the handshake just takes to long between the components sometimes and the player just assumes its not a compatible system. Good luck!

Tried the passthrough ... didn't work.

I downgraded my xbox one x to 1080 video output, passthrough on the AVR and the menu for 3D settings on my projector showed up (which it didn't before). I took off passthrough and it still showed up. however, I still could not get Vudu to play the 3D movie. Still get the same error.

So you hooked the xbox up directly to the projector and no luck?

It might be the app on the xbox. I have to use the vudu app on my Sony 3D bluray player to get 3D from vudu. The vudu app on my 3D TV won't play vudu 3D movies.
