An issue with VP v13 that I've notice for awhile is that t/b renders are not split correctly. When I play them on passive screen there are 2 rows of pixels at the very top of screen that are not displaying correctly like it's not two equally-sized images. Happens only with t/b renders from VP. Sbs renders work fine. Unfortunately, VP is the only NLE I have that will render out t/b unless I make a blu ray 3D disc in VP and then bring that in DVDfab and use t/b tool there but that's a lot more work.

Trying to use t/b full method which will work on passive 4K screens for full resolution per eye. I will render out a SbS full instead which is fine for HD content but I need t/b for 4K content since passive screens work with t/b mode for full resolution.

tom- slightly off topic but I see there are thousands of 4K 3D TV's being offered on Alibaba with shipping to the US. These are powered by 120v 60 Hz too. Some are OLED and some are LED. The downside is many are only offered in volume shipments, up to 100 minimum order for the smaller screens like 32". ebay also has a few new and used too.

Can you provide links? I remember last year seeing a few 4K 3D passive screens on ebay with shipping to the US that were using leftover LG FPR panels and being sold, made in Korea but not by LG, but I don't see those any more either. I suppose the stocks of FPR panels are long gone now.

I was considering buying one at the time but I ended up finding a used OLED.

I saw some used OLED's on ebay too. For location just do a search for 4K 3D TV in Alibaba or ebay. The supply of FPR panels has only dried up in the US. 3D is still quite popular in Asia and Europe. BTW- I bought my 27" LG from Alibaba and had it shipped here. I repaired my 32" Vizio 3D with a new Main board from Ebay. I'm sure it was a pull out from a cracked screen damage. But I'm back in business here. Hopefully, if I get ready to buy next year the supply will still be there.

I didn't see any on Alibaba. The ones that show up in search aren't 3D and many just list 1080p, the description shows 4K and 3D but not really. Some listings are very sketchy, like 50 units for 23.00 each?

There are no 3D screens being made since after 2016 anywhere. 3D monitors have been gone long before. There's still a few active 3D monitors made and the glasses-free screens.

There are some on eBay that are used LG or Samsung 4K screens, some list new but they're just new in box made 2016 or before. I did see last year one made in Korea using leftover LG 3d layers but that's been awhile and those are no longer on eBay.

I think Don was referring to a 27" 1080p passive Lg monitor. They were sold direct from Korea, not in stores. I was going to buy one back in '14 but I waited too long. I'm glad I didn't make the same mistake on 4K LG's, got two for now but next year I may pick up another one.

Oh, I found the link to the 4K 3D passive screen that I discovered last year. I remember correctly, they were using LG IPS layer part stock but reselling it as THE HAM. There are still a couple on eBay but the seller has 75% feedback and some of the feedback is pretty scary.

So here's the company site: THE HAM

They had several sizes in 3d. The website isn't fully functional either with dead links which makes me think it's a scam by the eBay seller but who knows. Could be legit. I'm guessing they bought up 2015 remaining LED stock and are selling them till they're gone. They have a new line I'd bet the 3D ones are gone other than the eBay listing, unless it's all a scam.

The eBay listing

I think I'd sooner pick up a used LG than risk this, plus you could have customs charge and then if it's broke along the way. But last year I was looking to see if any 4K screens existed with 3D and found this but raised an eyebrow of course.

The Samsung models that do 3D in 4K were Samsung HU8550 and HU9000 series from digging up older posts here, they can display 4k3d half in SbS and maybe top bottom too, not sure. And all 4K LG passive screens but in t/b mode. They'll accept a side by side signal but I believe the vertical resolution is cut in half since it's passive tech.

Yes, mine is the LG 27" and I did buy it from China, Alibaba a couple years ago. The monitor works well but the remote control is in Chinese. The TV fortunately has English in the language menu.

It has 2 HDMI inputs so I have it set up for both my 3D computers graphic cards. I also have a 32" 3D vizio that lost the main board but eventually I found a pullout part on ebay and repaired theVizio. I rarely use it now in the bedroom. My wife asked- You going to watch TV in bed? I said no, just thought if we ever get sick in bed it will be nice to have.

tom that's a better deal than the two I found in NYC. But 60" is big for my room. I may consider it after I return from my next trip and see what the bank account looks like.

All the ones I saw from Samsung were curved screens too. Not my cup of tea.

I don't think so if Don is referring to the LG 27" monitor, that was 1080p.

I wouldn't buy that one I posted, I just posted it because we were talking about any 4K 3D screens available on the market today which I don't think there are after 2016 but I suspect these aren't made any more either, they're probably from leftover parts from 2015. The website looks fake to me (possibly) and the seller has bad feedback (75%). I think too much could go wrong buying that one. I'd look for Samsung HU8550 and HU9000 series or LG. I would go LG even a used screen. There's usually a few OLED models on eBay like this one. They're expensive but worth it. 6k is quite a bit, I paid half that for mine but maybe some would turn up locally. Don't see them on Amazon any more.
