3D Frame Packing in [email protected]

Hello,

Using an 3D ISO with MPC HC x64 or MPC BE x64 works fine, it jumps into [email protected] Frame Packing. But when I go to [email protected], and try again it jumps to [email protected] Frame Packing. There is no input in madvr's <Display>/display modes/list all display modes madvr may switch to:.
The unit supports [email protected] FP.
HTPC, 1060GTX, Benq W2000 via HDMI, Win10x64.

Because most 3d is 1080p24 frame packing. It's not easy to convert to 720p60 frame packing since that requires both a scale and frame rate conversion.

To play in 720p60 FP requires a movie recorded in 720p60 FP. I know of one which I used to test when implementing that mode.

I was going to try to use SVP for frame rate increase. SVP can also transcode the file to the appropriate frame rate so that conversion isn't done in real time (haven't tried it yet).
madvr should do the downscaling to 720p.
I don't understand why it automatically switches resolution with FP, with normal video it does not. Must be the madvr 3d implementation.

I was unable to use the transcoding function on a 3D MVC file:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwx...dRZF9XMDA/view
from here https://kodi.wiki/view/Samples

Using it in real time changes the refresh rate to 24Hz.
This is what I get after trascoding (original on the right):

How else can I modify the frame rate?

LE: Where can I get a [email protected]/50Hz 3D MVC/ISO sample?

Is there some reason you want 720p? If you're playing a blu ray 3D that's 1080p24 then that's the correct format. I have a camera that has native 720p60 3D option. I could film something, then format to blu ray 3D iso. Probably couldn't get to it till weekend though.

This line intentionally left blank.

I'm experimenting with some CFI software (SVP), and wanted to see what would a frame packed 3d blu ray interpolated at 60Hz look like, even at 720p.

The software in conjunction with MPC BE (x64) allows to play a 3d blu ray without reincoding it, but this process transforms it into TAB: http://www.svp-team.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4163

The first obstacle would be to get the player to stop jumping to [email protected] when playing a 3d blu ray. I would need to find a player (or renderer) that can play both 3d ray's and support SVP: https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Manual:Video_players
Pot player is on this list, but I believe it still uses lav filters plus madvr to play 3d blu ray's. Vlc can't do it.

Second obstacle would be to interpolate the video from 24 to 60Hz. Transcoding, which re encodes the file does not produce a 3d image. The file was a 3d mvc mkv sample. Haven't tried a .m2ts yet.

DmitriRender is another CFI software, but this one supports MPC HC and Pot player only.

At this point it's more of a curiosity, since it's difficult to make it work. Not sure what this feature [email protected] FP is even for if there's no content for it, gaming?
Thank you for the offer, but I would need to find a way to make 3d blu ray's work, don't know if that type of file would be instructive.

Or you could buy a 720p60 3d title. The only one I know of was a FIFA movie. It was only one, and yes, the reason for it is super silky smooth motion for high action sports.

1080p24 would be an ugly mess in 3d if you did sports on it.

I released both my films (bonus features only - not main film) in 720p60 3D frame packed. On eBay as The Good Years: A Blimpumentary and Farewell DC-10 Biman Bangladesh. I didn't like the 1080/24 conversion, it took a lot away for what I was going for.

Ah that was you, I finally got around to ordering the blimp feature btw, nice job! The main feature should have been in 3D though too, only complaint. I didn't know about the DC-10, I'll have to check it out.

Thanks.

Problem is trying to shoot a feature when you're a one man crew. 3D was already on its death bed, and frankly I ***hate*** Sony Vegas for editing (and no way was I going to suffer through it for a 90 minute film). It was a massive chore to edit the 'bonus' discs. That being said, my TD20 was flaky, I hadn't got the TD30 or DEV-50 yet. Had I had all three cameras, it would have made it more likely. But shooting the blimp (or DC-10) on a TD10 isn't the same as the DEV-50. The shots of the exterior Zeppelin NT (and the ceremony) were all shot on the DEV-50 (everything else on TD10/20/30).

At one point, and I still may get around to it, I thought about trying to edit a 1080i30/AVCHD disc just so I could get the 1080i instead of 720p conversion. Or just eventually put out a SBS-Full version in 1080/30. One day.
