Hi,

I purchased the above Sony sound-bar yesterday. I have it setup to HDMI Arc on the sound-bar and the tv.

The sound works great if I go to the sound-bar Amp Menu > Audio > HDMI > C HDMI and set this to off then back to on. After a few second sound comes through the sound-bar.

If I switch the tv off, back on, sound fails to come from the bar. I have to repeat the steps above in order to get sound.

I have the TV Audio setting on the bar set to TV (HDMI) so it defaults to HDMI rather than optical.

The connections are as follows :-

TV HDMI (Arc) > Sound-bar HDMI (Arc)

TV HDMI 2 > Sky HD box

TV HDMI 3 > Sony PS3

Obviously having to perform the above menu operation every time I switch the TV on is not ideal.

In the TV audio settings I have :-

Digital Audio Output - PCM (have also tried Auto)
TV Speaker - Off
ARC Mode - On
AV Sync - On

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Have you ever solved this problem?  I have the same issue with LG 60PN5700.  The best "workaround" I've come up with is to go to the LG "simplink" menu and turn off the option which allows the TV to power off the sound bar when powered off.  The sound bar is always powered up but at least I don't have to go through the annoying steps to get the sound back.
