Frequently losing most part of the settings

Recently the soundbar has been annoying me quite a lot, because I often lose my settings.
I realise it whenever quick setup is greeting me when I wanna do something using the GUI of the soundbar. Weird part is, not all settings will be reverted back to standard! For example, the HDMI ports stay enhanced, also the secured connection to the sub doesn't change. But most of the other stuff, like DRC, distance settings, chromecast setup and so on will be lost and has to be setup again.

Did anybody experience the same behaviour using this soundbar?

Oh yes. Lots of movies don't properly utilize Atmos on their audio tracks in my experience but if you do try it, these are some of my favorite movies for their Atmos tracks.

Spider-Man: Homecoming
Hacksaw Ridge
The LEGO Ninjago Movie

Is there a better surround sound/dolby atmos soundbar where I only want a soundbar and sub no rears? Mostly used for tv (60%), movies (25%), video games (10%) and Music (5%)

Connector on the back of the subwoofer

Does anybody know what's this connector on the back of the subwoofer and how to use it? Is it possible to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar by cable? I still sometimes get interferences and therefore I'd prefer to get rid of the wireless connection. Manual doesn't say anything about this unfortunately.

Sennheiser Ambeo should be better, however much more expensive.

I myself am trying to decide between the Sony HT-5000 [£1,200 inc tax in UK] vs Sennheiser Ambeo [£2,200 inc tax in UK].

The HT-5000 seems much lower in price in the USA with references to only 950dollars - right?

Does the Sub have to be close to the soundbar?

If it does I will have to look elsewhere as no space on either side of my tv cabinet.

I can place it opposite 7 feet away, but concerned it might not connect effectively based on owners posts.

Any thoughts please?

Most likely a service port is my guess.

I have a Sony 65A1. When playing stuff using built-in NETFLIX app. 5.1 audio ”crackles and pops” or sometimes even drops out completely when played back via ARC to my Sony st5000 soundbar. If selecting the ”non 5.1 audio track” it doesn’t do that. Or using ATV4K from TV then ARC to soundbar it also works.
Anyone else have this issue? Any settings I need to check?

Best way to hooked up the gear.

I currently have my gear, cable box, Oppo 203 going into the a 75 Z9D. Is this the best way to get the benefit of this soundbar? Or should I run everything thru the soundbar?

Does the Z9D have eARC? If it doesn’t then you are missing out on the Lossless audio on the Oppo. In general I run everything into the soundbar.

Not sure about the e-arc. I did changed the setup around and the sound is much better. Getting the DTS-X now. Thanks for the response.

Just to clarify: Did you change inputs of your devices to Soundbar and NOW you are seeing DTS-X?

Hi!
Quick question, I read a lot of pages related to this bar, and also searched for terms.
My question is:

Do movies really sound low? I mean, I have to put the volume to 40 to even have a great sound effect volume

And I don’t know if I’m too close to the bar, but with 6db on height speakers, when something overhead happens, I only hear the effects from the speakers itself and no bounce at all (MLP at like 1.8 mts, configuration at 2 mts)

Results will be heavily based on the source and your environment for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X effects.

Hi,

I'm about to purchase this soundbar, I have a question: Does this soundbar support 2 subwoofers connected wirelessly?

I have an old Sony soundbar with the wireless sub, and try to connect this ST5000.

Thanks.

I got my HT-ST5000 for just 500 dollars yesterday so I gave a chance for a soundbar-sub system for the first time. Actually i am pretty satisfied with this in overall. Still i am bit confused about settings abd regarding to that that, I would like to ask few questions...

1. When I am choosing sound output from my television (there are actually four possibilities: Surround, Dolby Digital Plus, stereo (uncompressed) and surround (bypass)) I get no difference with these. Actually it does not matter, but why this is that? When I am watching normal TV (via antenna), my ST5000 shows it's in Dolby Digital Plus 48khz / Solby surround.

2. I have Playstation Pro and Viaplay app. I set PS4 to bitstream (dts) with Viaplay movies and regarding to movies, my ST-5000 display shows "Dolby Digital Plus 5.1" or "DTS 5.1 / Neural X". This differiates amongs the movies. Is this "right or normal" and why I do not get 7.1? I know that with this system I do not get Dolby Atmos because of PS4, but I would like to know if this is the best or what I should have?

3. With PS4 games, for example Battlefield V, I set my PS4 to LPCM. With this, I get LPCM 7.1. Why not with movies 7.1?

My connections are as follows: Soundbar to TV with HDMI ARC and PS4 Pro with HDMI to Soundbar.

Thanks!

Set PS4 to LPCM, bitstream is always worse as it is compressed.

Don't forget to adjust your db levels and speaker heights if you haven't already.

Hey guys, I think my st5000 just broke now I have a question for the fellow owners...

When you do the test tone in speaker settings for front channels, are you suppose to get the tone from the center 5 speakers too ? I am getting sound only from the far left and far right front speakers.

I would really appreciate if someone could check this for me. Thanks.
