Hi guys,

Had the soundbar a while now and it is absolutely incredible but decided to try arc out with my Samsung ks8000 and the Xbox one X and for the life of me I cannot get the Xbox one to display a video signal when connected to the soundbar.

Xbox out goes to ms650 input and soundbar output goes to TV arc, all hdmi cables are 2.0. I've tried a cold boot on the Xbox one to reset display signals but nothing. Must be due to an issue with the soundbar.

The ms650 shows up on my TV as an input and sound settings are set to hdmi on the TV.

Anyone had this issues and managed to troubleshoot it?

I have managed to sort the issue after troubleshooting everything!!

If you have an optical cable plugged into the soundbar and into your Samsung TV it will automatically select this signal even if you have the source on ms650 hdmi arc! Hence no video signal coming from say the Xbox one x

Either go into the multiroom app and select HDMI input on the soundbar or try doing it via the soundbar remote.

Thank god!

How are people hanging these from the TV?

Where can you find the Samsung mounting bracket (Samsung WMN300SB) for this bar? It seems like nobody carries it anybody (out of stock everywhere). Is the only solution to...
  1. Mount it directly to the wall
  2. Connect the L shaped brackets to the sound bar and then use any rear mounting bracket system/arms?

I'd prefer to not have to mount it to the wall, and I've read some posts whereby people can to drill into the 3rd party mounting brackets to get the L shaped (comes with the sound bar) brackets to mate up.

Kinda late to the party for the sub. Picked one up on Amazon Used-acceptable for $252 a few weeks back. Chose this over going back and forth between the HW-N650, Sonos Beam, and the Sony XF9000. Looked at the review along with all the other good posts on how good this SB was and bit the bullet. The SB itself sounds great and was practically brand new, but lacked the bass that I like to have. Voices were so clear and movies sounded really good when I tried out Dunkirk. Decided to grab the subwoofer for this SB, and my god this thing just sounds amazing! Almost too overwhelming for my 10X10 Den. I would have to say it sounds better than my Polk 5.1 set up in my family room with Yamaha receiver. The sub has just the right bass where it does not rattle the whole room. Was using optical, but decided to try out the ARC connection. Had a few issues, but it seems to work out fine now and sounds better than optical.

Gotcha....yea I’m waiting for mine to arrive. I order off a person off these forums. Paid through PayPal and supposed to ship today. I thought you meant you got the sub for $252. I am trying to find an open box deal but I guess not many of these get returned. Lol

I had a lot of trouble connecting the soundbar to WiFi just to find out it was up to date on the firmware

Am I the only one here using the 2 little legs the soundbar came with ?

I personally do not use them- instead I have put a couple of small, round felt floor protectors towards the front of the soundbar to tilt it up slightly towards the listening position.

Although I previously owned a full blown Atlantic Technology 7.2 set up, I have to say for the size of this thing, and the low price I paid, the sound quality it puts out has surprised me. Very little sense of any 'surround' sound but regardless, the front soundstage and bass is impressive.

I am saving up for another proper surround sound setup, but this little Samsung has exceeded my expectations and I am more than happy using while I do so. Thumbs up from me!

I have recently bought MS650. I heard MS750 at one shop but could not hear MS650 but after reading the reviews, I decided to buy as almost all places it is mentioned that it is as good as MS750. However, not sure if the shop plays some high quality audio or what, I did not find that kind of sweetness and openness in sound of MS650. In fact I heard Yamaha ATS-1080 in another shop and it is hard for me to find any difference in Yamaha 1080 and MS650. While MS650 is more than double price of Yamaha one.

I am wondering if the sound will improve after burn-in or may be after 100-120+ Hours usage? As of now, I guess I used it for 50-55 hours but more than 60% times it was used to watch the TV shows or movies and not always songs.

The sound is not very open and details are not that deep.

Did anyone face the same initially then the sound improved dramatically after some time? Pls advise. Thanks.

Been using this soundbar for a while and wondering if anyone else can help with a few things:

1. I find the speech is a little too quiet in relation to the rest of the sound (e.g. gunshots, etc.) in Standard mode, is there a better mode to level this out slightly without crushing other details?

2. Is there an appreciable difference/benefit between feeding the soundbar a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal vs a PCM stereo signal, is one better than the other?

3. It's really annoying that the soundbar automatically switches off after 5 minutes of no input, is there any way to stop it doing this?

Many thanks.

I have only ever used 'smart' mode and sound rarely goes above '12' vol. setting as most of my viewing is late at night. I have found dialog fairly clear with this setting. There is also a graphic equalizer available thru the mutiroom app so I assume you can tweak setting to improve speech/dialog in that?

Not sure about other 2 questions, but my soundbar also seems to switch off if idle for short periods of time.

You could try asking over on the UK AVForums thread here...

Paid review. I bought Samsung MS650 Sound+ Soundbar after reading so many reviews and comments thinking that it is/was rated as No. 1 Soundbar in all reviews. I am now convinced that those reviews are surely paid reviews and comment too or they don't know anything about sound and just happy that MS650 is better than TV Speakers.

I am very very disappointed with that. No Bass or Sub-bass at all. Details is also not there. No smoothness at all. Sounds like a Carton box. Very average soundbar but cannot do anything now I should have bought Yamahan YAS-108 which was half the price of MS650 and it was with subwoofer too. MS650 is crap and should not cost more than $70-80 or may be max $100 (all AUD). While it costed me $400

No Sir. My sense and knowledge about sound and sound signature is very good. And most importantly, I spend big money in buying this soundbar which turned out to be very poor and well below average in terms of sound signature and quality. It should not cost more than $80-90. Even that is too much it seems for this kind of sound quality. No Bass, No Sub Bass, No details. Hollow sounding soundbar. I was not expecting this from Samsung at all.

I am very much sure that companies spend huge amount in asking people and sites to write Positive reviews for even crap products and these sites and people happily do that after all they get hug money for that But people like me suffers who spend hard earned money in these kind of things I wish I had get chance to hear it before buying But no one will expect this kind of crap which is rated Top in almost all reviews.

I am not generally a fan of Samsung or soundbars...and I agree there is too much hype around their technology and favourable reviews on the internet from various websites who I believe have been in some way are 'sponsored' by them. Prior to owning this product I had an expensive Atlantic Technology 7.2 speaker set up with a Denon AVR. No soundbar will ever replicate a true set of good quality surround speakers but considering the small footprint of this product I do believe it does a decent job for what it is. Have you tried adjusting the sound setting with the remote, and also via the downloadable equalizer on the app?
I keep mine in Smart mode, surround off and usually listen to it late at night at Volume 12-14.
For what it is I think the sound is good. I don't get any 'surround' effects at all but it is a million times better than the built in tv speakers. It works particularly good for gaming on a PS4.
One day I will buy another proper surround set up with separate speakers and receiver but in the meantime I am happy with this. I paid about $390 for this and I cannot think of anything at that price to give the same quality audio.
I am sorry to hear of your negative eperience!

Surround effect is useless. I don't use it at all. It just spoil the sound completely. BTW, I decided to return MS650 and going for Yamaha 108 Soundbar instead which has better sound quality I think. Also, it comes with built-in sub-woofer so surely a good option. I should have gone for that earlier only.

To me the Sound of MS650 was very hollow, no clarity and unless I do lots of setting in Music player with Equalizer, it won't even sound like a cheap $10-15 speaker. What is the use of having that kind of Soundbar which cannot perform on their own. I used many Android Music app and no change in the quality or sound signature at all. On top of that, I tried connecting it with WiFi using Multiroom App for almost a week but could not do it. The app always return error that No sound Bar found and it is not in WiFi Range. And I was sitting right next to Router to do that. After few same errors, I removed it from near TV and took it next to WiFI Router. I though the App will allow to do some settings which may change the sound signature that even Google Play Music will sound good.

Also, I also thought that may be WiFi Connection will upgrade some firmware which will improve the sound

I also just ran the update and it looks like they DID fix the auto-power-down (after 5 min) issue. But it still turns off after about 15 minutes.
