Yes. It is very hard to explain with english.
I will try again.

Ok. Lets say,
1.Shiled tv connected to the naka hdmi 2
Apple tv connected to the naka hdmi 3

2.The naka connected to tv via arc

3.You push the input select button on tv remote (doesnt have to be magic remote)

4. Tv will show you shiled tv and apple tv under arc input.

5. If you change to shield tv, soundbar input would change to hdmi2 automatically.

6. Sorry about my lousy english again. It is hard to explain even in my own language.

No worries man you explained it perfectly. I'm even more excited now cause that's exactly how I want my setup to work. Thanks!

Its just so, big and heavy.

That’s why I bought mine from Amazon instead of directly from them on eBay: free return with Amazon if unhappy. When I chatted with Ray, to return the 9.2 would be over $100 in shipping.

Just received the 9.2 a few minutes ago. Time to unbox and set up!

Well, I just took a look, one left like new on Amazon, one refurb from naka on ebay, and someone actionally going auction style on ebay (7.2). Looks like the firmware might magically become available sooner.

Has nakamichi ever asked anyone here to actually send something back to them? It only says a million ways when you open the box DO NOT RETURN!!!

There is no stock now, but when there was... why wouldnt you just return?

Anyone actually have naka ask you and make you pay to send? Over $100... wow.

Oh, congrats on the 9.2. You just reminded me to get kneepads because everything getting it or oh so many electronics setup on a hardwood floor... it hurts!

Did you get speaker stands and if so what kind? Whats your setup gonna be?

FYI if You were wondering why we would need new capacitors from Ray at Nakamichi . I have the new remote and all My devices function fine so I think we are fine, only if your devices are not compatible would this be a benefit it appears...

Hi Cxxxx

We have beta testers with all different brands of TV and streaming devices, the upgrade will allow for more stability on some of these specific devices.
The remote labeling is different, same number of keys and functions.

Regards
Ray

Just curious I own the original 9.2 elite system and heard the remote and hdmi capacitors are upgraded, what benefit would that provide over my current setup? I don’t feel there is any input lag or signal degradation with the current capacitors, what is the reason for the upgrade?
Thanks in advance,
Cxxxx

No matter how much I play with the settings I can’t get music to sound decent, and all of my tv dialog sounds like it’s coming out of a can.

Really hoping someone can offer some advise on the various settings before I pack this thing up and send it back to Amazon. What blends of settings is everyone using?

This is a 1000 sound system. You have to play with the settings and experiment before trying to threatening to send it back. This system is bringing new life to my sons video games. Very happy with this! Noticing all sorts of new sounds I never knew existed

I ordered an external hard drive from Amazon last week, but it took only five days to ship to Korea. But I think it is quite funny that ordering something from the U.S. to the U.S. takes longer.

It is DTS:X Dialog Control. It boosts the volume of voices, so that you can hear spoken dialog more clearly than other sounds (music, background noise, etc.). The level is controlled under DIALG in the SETUP menu.

It only works for content encoded in DTS:X, and then only if the person doing the sound mixing/encoding intentionally puts the dialog in a separate object. The Nakamichi manual says:

“DTS:X Dialog Control allows you to boost the dialog, making the dialog more intelligible. People with impaired hearing may also benefit. Note that the content creator may disable the use of this feature in the mix, so that DTS:X Dialog Control may not always be available.”

I did some additional research on this. I had assumed this was done by increasing the volume of frequencies in the vocal range, but in DTS:X the dialog can actually be encoded as a separate object from other sounds, so the volume of the dialog object can be increased to make voices clearer.

I don’t think I have any DTS:X content to try it out on, and I have no idea how many or which disks might support the feature. I suspect it isn't used much, so you can probably ignore it.

Well, Duncan, he's just this guy, you know?

I saw a link earlier in this thread to the updated manual for the 9.2 SSE system with the 3.1 firmware (Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision), but it just took me to the main page for the 9.2 system. You can get the 9.2 SSE manual by clicking the firmware download button, which takes you to this page https://www.helpdesk.nakamichi-usa.c...rmware-upgrade with links to the firmware, the firmware installation guide, and the new manual. I can’t seem to copy a link directly to the new manual for some reason.

Also, the new manual looks like it’s a scanned PDF, so no searching unless you have a PDF editor that performs optical character recognition.

Heard the nakamichi couple weeks back at a pal's place. Sounded pretty good. I can see how the setup works well, if you have the space to do the proper placement.

Only three new 9.2 systems left on Amazon and only two refurbished 9.2 systems on eBay.

It looks like all the 7.2 systems are gone at all the retailers listed on Nakamichi's website (Amazon, Best Buy or WalMart). None available on Nakamichi's eBay store either (new or refurbished).

I don't know why I keep checking, since I've got the 9.2 and I'm happy with it!

Edit: Looks like there are some new 9.2 systems available on eBay from 3rd party sellers.

Well, Duncan, he's just this guy, you know?

Question for people who purchased refurbished systems off eBay from Nakamichi.

I ordered my 9.2 system on eBay 11 days ago and when I check the tracking info on UPS it still says "Shipment Ready for UPS". When I go under shipment progress it states "Label Created" on 03/13/19 and that's it. I am super excited for this system to arrive but would be disappointed if this system hasn't even left their facility after 11 days. I live in SoCal so I don't expect it should take long from NorCal once it actually ships.

Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.2
Optoma UHL55
Roku ultra
Yamaha rx-v683
Hdfury integral 2 (bought this because it advertised that it can split sound and video via hdmi)
You'll need to provide more information for us to help troubleshoot. What exactly isn't working? Does the soundbar power on? Do you get test tones from some or all soundbar speakers? Do you get video but no audio passed through the soundbar? Which devices are connected to which inputs/outputs? How are the receiver and soundbar connected to other input/output devices or to each other?

Why do you need the receiver? The soundbar isn't intended to be used with a receiver/amp like a set of traditional speakers. It's intended to replace all of the switching/input/output/signal processing functions of the receiver (as well as replacing traditional speakers).

Have you tried a stripped-down minimal setup...like using a single known working source (like a blu-ray player) directly connected to a soundbar input and the soundbar connected directly to a TV (not a projector) via the soundbar's HDMI ARC output?

Try taking the Yamaha receiver and HDFury out of the mix and let the soundbar do all the signal processing just to see if the soundbar works at all. I suspect there's something happening in the HDMI handshake between the receiver and soundbar, assuming they are connected to each other. It's also possible that the EDID and/or HDCP information isn't getting properly passed from the projector through the receiver to the soundbar.

If you have a use case where you need to continue to use the receiver, you may need to email Nakamichi support to get advice on the best connection configuration. They're very responsive and helpful.

Well, Duncan, he's just this guy, you know?

I believe the eBay listings say to expect 5 business days for handling/processing. It took a week for mine to leave their facility. That was the day after the UPS tracking number was created. It was another week before I received it via UPS ground. That's shipping to TN, so yeah, I'd expect yours to show up quicker once UPS actually has it. Unfortunately, UPS ground doesn't deliver on Saturdays or Sundays unless the shipper pays extra for that service. Mine sat in the distribution center 3 miles from my house over the weekend and I didn't get it until last Monday.

Thanks for the help. If I don't receive it by Tuesday then I will send them a message.
