Soundbar or New Center Channel

In my bedroom setup I have an Anthem 520 AVR and a Nola Center channel (along with 2 small M&Ks and 2 surround speakers). I find that the dialogue on most shows is just not clear enough. It isn't just a matter of not being loud enough.

To improve the dialogue clarity should I just get a different center channel speaker of should I consider a passive soundbar with a reputation of excellent clarity?

I am willing to spend $1500.

Suggestions?

Have you tried playing with the receiver settings and bumping the center channel volume level?

I have. My center channel’s sound is too “soft”. When I adjusted the settings on my AVR and eliminated the center (forcing it to the left and right) the sound was much clearer. I think I am going to get a matching M&K center.

You have very nice electronics. II don't know anything about your center channel speaker butif it sounds better without it than definitely get a better matching center. Nothing in the sound bar category should come close to decent speakers.
