Well.. if you look at the picture, you can "sort of" deduce how long it will be...

Since each driver is 4"... it appears that the soundbar will be approx. 46" long.

I wonder what "early 2019" means? Feb or March possibly?

Maybe, it's still just vaporware for now. While design is final, production has yet to begin for selling. Given the market is so very niche for soundbars that cost several thousand dollars it's unclear what the end outcome is. Keep watch on the quarterly earnings and reports as it will tell the future of any developments more so.

Also, you get an idea from Creative Labs soundbar as it will likely be a one and done for them. The profit margin is fair at best and given their sell through that are real end sells, it did not bode so well in the end.

I don't feel like this is in the same category as the creative sound Sonic carrier personally as that bars MSRP is 5799 and even on a good sale like right now it's 4 thousand dollars!? And the rumored MSRP for the ambeo bar is 2000 to maybe 2500 and that's MSRP and will certainly have sales which puts it squarely in the territory of other high end sound bars like Sony's which is 1500 and Samsungs which is 1700 anyway just some speculating on my part

It looks and feels real to me, and I'm betting it's not vaporware. Sennheiser as a great company, and their products are not gimmicky. The large Neumann drivers are one of the most exciting things about this soundbar.

This bar won't fit on my TV unit, I can't use anything longer than 39 inches in length and this bar is around 46 inches apparently?

Wish it was smaller and had a stand-alone sub and wireless rear speakers

According to the listed specs - it's actually 49.8 inches or 50 inches....

126.56 cm = 49.8 in.

Question: does the 3x hdmi 2.0a and the HDMI out (eARC v2.0a) mean this will be a problem if hooked up to a 2019 8k tv from LG? Also what about next gen consoles (assuming they come out 2020 and have hdmi 2.1)?

Remember, that it uses no external subwoofer, and no external surround speakers, and it's possible that they are using very efficient drivers.

I would think if you have a new TV with HDMI 2.1 you would only use the eARC port on the sound bar and then plug everything else into the TV and then it shouldn't matter?

The prototype had an output for a subwoofer so I'd be surprised if it was eliminated from the production model.

That is exactly what I was hoping for. If I can in fact connect a couple of next gen consoles and/or PC that runs at 8K directly to the new LG 8k tv. Then use 1 hdmi 2.0a cable on the eARC without losing any video or sound quality, I’m in.

I simply don’t have the space for a true surround sound setup in the office/media room so I can’t wait to read the reviews.

Yea thank goodness they included eARC that was smart or this would have been the worse timed released lol. I'm excited to hear the reviews as well.

Well, it ain't going to be cheap:

Another article I read yesterday put it even higher at around $2800.

I guess Lady GaGa can buy one.

Yeah... it's not cheap...

But what soundbar with 4" drivers (13 drivers total) is cheap?

Plus the fact that you won't need to add a subwoofer or surround sound speakers - and you get QUALITY sound for both movies AND MUSIC from a single bar.

Instead of having 10 separate speakers all around the room hooked up to an amp.

Every professional reviewer who has heard the prototype so far has said that it sounds fantastic.

Can't wait to see some real world reviews in actual reviewers' homes, etc.

Shopping List:

Nevertheless, it is pretty pricey, and significantly more than the early projections of $1800 to $2200.

I was excited about the soundbar from the start, and have been following it all the way through its trajectory. Yes, 4 inch drivers are a wonderful addition to the soundbar field. I just wish more of us could afford one.

Kind of surprised that there isn't more about this soundbar from people who attended CES...

Did it not live up to its hype...

If the soundbar itself isn’t HDMI 2.1 certified then it might not support the transfer rate necesssary to send DTS:X/Dolby Atmos signals over the audio return channel, no? That’s why current HDMI 2.0 soundbars need HDMI inputs and part of what 2.1 is supposed to resolve.

It supports eARC so it will be capable as long as the TV supports it.

I attended the demo of the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar at CES. The demo included both movie and music selections. The MSRP will be $2499.95 with U.S. release set for May.

This is the first soundbar I’ve heard that made me believe I was listening to a full surround sound speaker setup instead of a soundbar. The soundbar has a built-in sub and bass performance was impressive. I believe that the bass performance would satisfy most users without the need for a separate sub.
