I got the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar yesterday and i must say i'm impressed. I hear sounds that i didn't hear from my 5.2 bose setup. this soundbar is an absolute powerhouse, the bass is also impressive.

It just separates the sounds much better so you hear more background noises.

Congrats! Is there anyway to adjust audio delay to compensate for the TV's processing delay?

Ok much clear now, thanks Angelo.

One last question and most important for me, is it true you hear the sound from behind and also from the top ? (With a DTS-HD movie for example)

Yes it's true, sound is coming from behind too as well as above.

How would you describe the sound quality?

Which systems have you heard and how does it compare to them ?

The sound quality is very impressive.

I can't compare it to any other system, with the ambeo mode turned on I have never heard anything like it. I have only heard a bose and Sony 5.1 system though.

I’d appreciate it if some of those who have heard the Ambeo would comment on clarity of dialog in movies. I’ve heard a number of soundbars and even speaker systems that sound quite good on music and sound effects but I couldn’t understand what the actors in movies were saying half the time. To be fair, I have a tough room.

I feel like that is just an adjustment or two away. My parents complained about that for their 4000 dollar setup and they just needed to turn up their center channel which is where voices come from. So I went to setting turned up the center speaker compared to the surround and bam.

I'm considering getting this for my den I'm just wondering if it will be overkill I have the room I suppose even though the room is small it would be fine. If this had optional surrounds it would be even better

I’m not surprised that clarity of dialog would be good from Sennheiser but thanks for verifying!

Rather than being overkill, I think the Ambeo would operate very well in your room a, particularly if it is a "closed box" room. You probably will get very pronounced 360 degrees effects, and won't need to set the volume high to fill your space. You likely will have no need for surround speakers at all.

Yea that's what I'm thinking, it would probably be quite an awesome 3D soundstage if all the early reports are true, can't wait to hear what more people say.

Are you running your devices through the sound bar HDMI ports or are you using arc or eARC?

Is there an option in the menu to disable bluetooth ?

A lot of us are in the Matrix and trying to decide which color pill to take. Is this ‘The One’? (The Creative Sonic Carrier was supposed to be.) I would venture to say that most of us don’t have square rooms either.

So, get the boss on board, drop two-and-a-half bills, deal with shipping, move my stuff, rewire and turn it on and my face will look like...what? Which orifice will the lizard come out of?

I’ve all but decided to replace my very capable, dedicated Home Theater space with this when I move into a small condo next month. The part I’m having the most trouble accepting is the low bass: how can 4 inch woofers get down to 30hz? If I’m not satisfied, at least there’s a sub out, so if it’s as capable as has been reported in the other areas, it should do nicely!

Sennheiser has updated the Ambeo HDMI specs on its website, since there was previous confusion:

“3x HDMI In (v.2.0a), 1x HDMI Out (v.2.1 eARC)”

The bass can be adjusted with the smart control app, and i must say an extra subwoofer is just not needed. The bass on this soundbar is incredible.

Thanks for the confirmation Angelo. I can’t really have earth-shaking bass in the new place anyway, so it is good to hear that the Ambeo can bring it down low. I still plan to bring my Crowson Motion Actuators to put under the couch, but the dual PSA V3601’s with their dual 18” drivers will have to find another home. Thanks again

@Angelo1985 , Does the Ambeo soundbar have tone controls? I am not talking about different preset modes such as music, movies, etc. I am asking if it has real tone controls (treble, bass, or possibly equalizer tone controls).

The one thing I really miss about my current soundbar (definitive technologies W Studio) is that you have no real tone controls. Frequently, I wish that I could turn up the treble so that the dialog would be clearer and easier to understand.

Yes there is an equalizer for tone control in the smart control app
